One thing that sucks about being a teacher's daughter with no license was how early I had to wake up to go to school. Dad was usually up at 6 and ready to leave by 6:30 and if I wasn't ready by then, I might as well walk to school.

About a month before Sectionals, I walked to dad's classroom. I opened the door and peaked in. Dad was sitting at his desk correcting some papers. He looked up at smiled at me.

"Hey sweetheart. What's up?" he asked.

"Dad, do you have an assignment for Glee club this week?" I asked.

"Um, not yet. Why?"

"I have one if you wanna hear it," I said. "It's sort of an homage to the under appreciated artists in our choir room."

Dad leaned forward on his desk, intrigued.

As Kurt and I walked into the choir room that afternoon, I noticed that "CANADIAN ARTISTS" written in big bold letters on the whiteboard. Kurt looked down at me and raised an eyebrow.

"What are you looking at me for?" I asked, playing coy.

"You have something to do with this, don't you?" he said.

"I might," I shrugged as I sat next to Rory. "Hey."

"Hey," he said and flashed one of his heart melting smiles.

"Okay guys. This weeks assignment comes from the one and only Samantha Schuester," dad explained. "It has been brought to my attention that there are some artists we don't give much love to and that is Canadian artists. No, not Justin Bieber and Michael Buble, but other Canadian artists that don't get as much recognition. So, for this weeks assignment, I want you guys to pick a song by a Canadian artist and perform it. And you guys can start now if you want."

Everyone went off to find songs to perform this week. I put a hand on Rory's shoulder to keep him from leaving.

"Mind staying?" I asked. "I have a song."

"Of course," he said. I smiled at him and went to grab my guitar. I pulled out the sheet music and passed it to Rory.

"It's one of my favorite songs," I told him. "It's kinda half the reason I suggested this assignment."

"I think I know it," he replied.

I smiled and began to play the song.

Rory:

"She said, Baby don't leave

Be home, stay close, be close to me

Boy, don't be gone

Boy, don't be gone"

Samantha:

"He said, Baby you know

I gotta run, I gotta go

I won't be long

Girl, I won't be long"

Rory:

"She said, Boy don't you flirt

And baby please just don't get hurt

And if you feel alone

Then here take my shirt"

Samantha:

"He said, Forever girl

I know you hate the weather, girl

So maybe you should hold on to my sweater girl"

Both:

"Na, na, na

Na, na, na, na, na, na

Na, na, na
