I didn't tell you about anything.
I didn't tell you that there was a letter sitting on the study of my office that could change my whole life.
Because with that change, came another one, where I had to let you go.
And I couldn't even begin to consider that as an option.
You had another year left.
We had another year left.
A job offer was going to change nothing. I didn't care how much money or how many opportunities they threw my way.
You were everything.
We still had a year left with us until that disease swallowed you whole. One year where I would lay the whole world at your feet.
I was not going to be in denial and scream about you not leaving me. You had to. And I was okay with it. At least I thought I was.
You were still there.
The fear was never going to taint anything between us.
