Avery's POV
I was very impressed that Aron would come all the way to my house just to return an old book. I felt so special! I really like Aron and he is so sweet. But I have a boyfriend. I just want to be friends with Aron. Aron and I share many of the same likes and dislikes and Dave, my boyfriend, is always busy with his baseball team so we don't talk as much about that stuff, but I love him. We still go out sometimes and he makes me happy.
Aron is great, so I'm not sure, but I do feel really special around him.
"So why did you come all the way here." I asked.
"Um... to return the book."
He said this really slowly as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"I know. But I don't think you would honestly go out of your way on a Saturday morning to return an old book to a girl that you just met yesterday."
"Well I guess you thought wrong."
I chuckled a little. We sat down on the couch and talked for a while.
"So what school to you go to?" He asked me.
"West Franklin High." I sighed.
West Franklin High is not the best school. It was easy to pass the classes, but the people there are terrible. It was hard to find a decent group of people to hang out with. All the kids there either do drugs, have casual sex, threaten people to do their homework, or are so naïve that a measuring tape isn't long enough to measure the size of there ego. It more of a 'try-to-be-as-likable-as-possible-so-you-don't-die' school.
"Me too." Aron said.
"Why don't I ever see you around?"
"I see you. I guess you're just busy with classes and stuff."
"Ya I guess."
"Hey I never see your dad. Where is he?"
I looked down at my hands and fiddled with my thumbs for a bit.
"My mom and dad got divorced when I was 5."
I hadn't talked about their divorce in years. It was a sore subject.
"Oh." Aron paused. I could see the regret in his eyes from asking that question.
"I'm sorry I didn't know." He said.
I pushed it away.
"No it's fine."
We sat in silence for a while longer before I asked Aron a question.
"You still never told me how you knew I was in the forest and I know you weren't 'just passing by'. Your not stocking me are you?"
"No. No, of course not. I'm shocked that you would think such a thing."
"Then how?"
"Well..."
But before Aron could finish, my mother stumbled through the door holding at least 17 different shopping bags.
"Mom, what are you doing?"
I ran up to her grabbing bags and boxes from her. She set some on the table and others on the floor.
"What is all this?" I asked.
"It's for our trip." She continued to organize the bags and boxes. In one particularly large bag she pulled out a gray suitcase and handed it to me.
"You do remember our trip, don't you?"
She finally turned towards me. I do remember our trip. Our long vacation. The one that we had been planning for months. The very long trip that we going to take. But I didn't want to leave now. I was enjoying my time with Aron. He was so sweet and I really enjoyed his sarcasm. Last year we went to Paris and Ireland and the year before that we went to Japan and Cuba. This year we planned on London and Australia.
"What is he doing here, Avery?"
My mom glared at Aron. She always told me that boys are scumbags and only after one thing. She only liked Dave because we had known each other since we were 5.
"Aron just came by to drop off a book." I said.
Aron pressed his lips together and nodded slowly in agreement. He sighed as he stood up, rubbing his hands down his knees as if straightening his black jeans.
"Well...um... I guess I'd better be going now then." He pointed to the door and took a large sarcastic, awkward step around the couch.
"Ok I'll walk with you." I said starting to follow.
"No you won't," My mother said.
"You need too pack." She pulled me back and handed me a suitcase.
I sighed as I watched the door close behind Aron.

Sorry I haven't been able to post much. I haven't had wifi in 5 weeks because I've been in Montana and we just moved to a new house and the wifi hasn't been set up yet. I've only been able to post the chapter because I have wifi at my gym. I hope you all like this chapter. I will try to post my new books soon and more chapters. :)
