The alarm had gone on, the extremely loud beeping woke me up immediately. I knew it was going to be a great day like always. However I had a strange feeling, something did not seem right. I decided to ignore it, maybe I was just too tired and nervous due to the big presentation I had to do today at work.

It was a chilly morning, the sky was clear and a mix of orange and light purple filled the sky. The fresh smell of trees and nature surrounded my back yard. I decide to go back inside to wake up my children and wife. Having to get my children ready was the hardest part of my morning!

"Marco wake up, it's time to get ready for school," said Jonathan.

"But dad I don't want to go to school," said Marco half asleep.

"Son you know how important school is for you" said Jonathan.

Having to be a businessman at the World Trade Center made me a very important man. My job required so much from me that I would always tell my son how important school was for him.

"Well get ready, breakfast will be ready in 5 minutes," said Jonathan.

"Alright I guess dad, I'll be there in 5 minutes," said Marco in a very low annoyed voice.

It was now time to wake my daughters up who did not have school that day. However, they had to get up and get ready. They were going to be staying with their grandma since my wife and I worked all day.

"Priscilla, Elisa, wake up it's time to get ready," said Jonathan, "breakfast will be ready in 5 minutes, hurry!"

"Alright dad we're going!" said both girls.

As I was walking down the stairs into the kitchen and I saw that my wife had a very strange look in her face. I knew something was wrong but what could it be?

"Good morning," said Marco while yawning, "how did you sleep?"

"Not that good, something did not feel right and I wasn't able to sleep all night," said Monica with a sad face.

I knew something was wrong, because I woke up feeling the same way. Although I decided to keep it to myself because I didn't want to worry my wife.

"Maybe it was just a bad night, everything is okay, nothing to worry about," said Marco while giving her a tight hug.

From there nothing was said and the kids had came down for breakfast. As I was eating I looked out the window, and looked at the World Trade Center which looked so tiny, as if it was a toy tower. Once we were done eating I took my son to school and my two girls to their grandma's house. My wife and I drove to work, my wife was a secretary which meant that it was going to be a long day for her too. As always we stopped at the Cafe located outside the trade center, because they served the best coffee I have ever tasted.

"What would you like this morning honey," said Jonathan.

"The same as always," said Monica, "with not that much sugar."

After like 2 minutes we were given our coffee and we headed out into the crowded streets of New York City. As we walked into the into the first tower of the World Trade Center , my wife and I stopped to talk to some friends. As I looked at my watch I realized it was about to be 8, which meant it was time to go work. As we got in the elevator, I realized my wife still had that strange look on her face.

"Are you sure you are okay," said Jonathan with a very scared face.

"Yes, I am fine," said Monica while staring at the colorful ceiling, "I'm just tired."

"Well you don't look fine to me, I think you should go home and rest." said Jonathan.

I was worried, because I knew something was wrong, my wife was always happy and with a smile on her face. Work was never something she would complain about, even after her long days of work she had the brightest smile on her face.

My wife and I worked at the very top last floor, which meant it was a long way there. However I decided to stop asking questions and just let her relax for a bit, before we reached the top. As we were going up, I got distracted by the beautiful view of New York City. After all I have never payed much attention to it, since i'm always in a hurry. It was extremely gorgeous, all the buildings, the people going out for a run, people walking. I decided that from now on I was going to pay attention to such beautiful view. When reaching the top floor my wife gave me a tight hug and walked towards the other end of the building which is where she works. I still had to walk across some offices and rooms, into which was known to be the conference room. Once I arrived the tables and folders were neatly set but not everybody was there, so I took a seat at the far end of the room. As I sat I realized that my day was barely starting and I already having a hard time concentrating. This never really happens to me, which was really strange.

As soon as the reunion began, I realized that I wasn't paying much attention. I found myself staring off into the glass window that displayed the great view of New York City.

"Jonathan, Jonathan!",said Jonny one of the presenters.

"Yes, sorry I was a bit distracted," I said softly.

"It's time for your presentation, come on up," said Jonny.

My presentation went by so fast, I felt like I spoke very fast and did not explain much. However, after I took a seat Jonny had said I did a great job, which kind of made me feel better. A couple minutes later, I received a message from my wife that she was going to go home. I got very worried and decided to meet her in the lobby. I got up very quickly and excused myself from the reunion. As I entered the elevator, I received a message from my wife saying she was going to take a bit longer because she had to turn in some paperwork before she headed down. I told her it was okay that I would be waiting for her and that I loved her. I was almost halfway down when I felt like the whole building moved. The lights on the elevator began to flash and I immediately texted my wife to see if she was okay and if she knew what was happening. I began to panic, however I knew I had to relax, maybe it was nothing bad.

Two minutes later I finally received a message from my wife saying that something was happening at the very top of the building. From that moment on I felt like my whole body stopped functioning, the elevator suddenly stopped and the lights went off. I texted my wife as fast as I possibly could, "are you okay, answer please". Minutes now felt like hours, and not one reply from my wife. Suddenly it sounded like something had exploded. I could hear firefighters and police sirens coming from a far distance. Ten minutes had passed and my wife wasn't answering and I was stuck in the elevator. Where was my wife, was I going to see her again? What about my children. What was happening? That's all that went through my head.

About 6 minutes later the elevator doors opened and I ran out but people were running all over the place, screaming and telling me to run down because a plane had crashed into the building. I felt like the world suddenly stopped, I couldn't move. Was my wife alive? ...

However I never received a message back from her, all I received was her body and her phone with an unsent message saying "I don't know if I will see you again, but hopefully soon"
