Ouch

That was the only thought in my head, along with my throbbing headache. I opened my eyes, and waited as my eyes adjusted to the darkness.  I looked down, and realized that I was in a bed, and was still in my dress from last night.

I sat up, and a petite redheaded woman walked through the door. She was wearing a black pantsuit and had a glimmering badge on her lapel. As she got closer, I could make out the writing on her badge.

FBI

I shook my head, wondering what had happened and why I was here, and I knew that the woman sitting infront of me had all the answers.

"Hello," the woman spoke, frowning at me, "I am Agent Pastor, and I'm here to ask you a few questions and to answer any questions you may have." she said, pulling out a notepad.

"Firstly, do you remember anything from last night?" she asked, looking at me. I remembered all the events leading up to the blast, and I filled her in, as she wrote down all the details.

"Now, it's my turn to ask a question," I said, looking up at her. She looked like she wanted to retort, but she nodded, allowing me to get in the question I've been waiting to ask since I woke up.

"What am I doing here?" I asked, and she sighed, probably knowing that I was going to ask that question. She put down her notepad, and turned to look at me.

"Mira, you are here because we have a job for you," she started, gauging my reaction, "you know the Dawson family, right?" she asked, and I nodded, recalling them from some charity gala's that I've been to. They had 2 children, who were my age, a girl named Adelaine and a boy named Andrew. They both were very nice, but I remember Adelaine complaining about her boyfriend, who apparently was a jerk who her parents forced her to date.

"Well, they have reported a mole in their company. Someone that has been leaking information to the enemy companies," she said, and I nodded, slightly confused as to what this had to do with me.

"People have been sending in threats to Adelaine Dawson, which has put her in an unsafe position, so we've had to remove her from her family and hide her away for her own safety. Our job for you is that we need you to go undercover as Adelaine because you both look very similar. Your mission is to determine the plans of the mole and figure out who he or she is," she finished, and I started at her, awestruck.

"So," I started, trying to comprehend the enormity of my assigned task, "you want me to go undercover as Adelaine and discover a mole? Are you sure that this is safe? And what about my parents? I can't be gone from them forever!" I exclaimed, getting more worried by all the terrible endings of this project.

Agent Pastor shook her head, trying to calm me down. Once I was calm, she began explaining, "We will try to make this as safe as possible. If you need anything, there is a rendezvous where you can meet up with any FBI agent. Since you arent a formal FBI agent, there will be another undercover agent who is currently undercover as an employee in the Dawson's company. Your family knows that you have been assigned this task, and the only the Dawson's know that you will be going in. Nobody else knows that, and we're planning on keeping it that way. Once you and the other undercover agent discover who the mole is, we can extract you from the case and apprehend the mole. Understood?"
