They both clambered up the side of the ship, finally arriving on deck, the crew paused from their jobs and welcomed the Captain back on board, Jacob put down his bag and looked around the neat vessel from the hull, to the rudder, his sight took him to the fore mast as his head leaned back looking up at the sails, it wasn't the biggest of ships but it would hold it's own if someone would decide to attack, there were 5 cannons on each side, including two facing forward at the front of the ship. James who was already up on the quarter deck had noticed Jacob gawping at his ship, his eyes never strayed from the new guest.

The crew, just like any other, looked rough,  and of all sizes, he looked from the crew then to Kidd, trying to figure out how this young lad keeps these men in order, nothing is impossible, but this didn't seem to add up, is he a kind captain? Kidd? Nah. Good with income for the men maybe.

As soon as he got on board the crew eyed the chap up, a new person on board always aroused suspicion for them. Whether it be something new to talk about, someone to tease, to place bets on, or getting rumours going whether this lad was Kidd's 'guest'.. this is where the conversations, and most certainly bets would be put on, whether this lad is Kidd's friend, or more. They never had anything against Captain Kidd, it was just a way to make some money and pass time at sea. To them James was a young 20 year old pirate, with handsome but slightly feminine features, he would of been a target to some men who were at sea for too long, that is, if James didn't have the balls to slice a man's throat for even implying something happen like that with him. He never really had anyone new on board, apart from Kenway, Thatch, Hornigold and some others. So when this handsome young lad popped up, their interests rose.

Jacob felt the crews eyes glaring upon him, he felt uneasy as his hand rubbed the back of his neck.

"Before we leave for Nassau-" the crew let out a cheer, knowing they were going to the pirate republic, "-as I was saying, before we leave for Nassau, I'd like to introduce all of you fine men to Jacob Flynn, he'll be with us until we get to our destination, do any of you think this a problem?"

The crew stayed silent, some even shook their heads, in fear no doubt.

James smirked, "Good, now let's be off!"

The crew got to doing their jobs, it had been over two hours since they set off, and Kidd went into his quarters to sort some personal affairs out no doubt. Leaving Flynn to wander around the deck of the ship,  he kept out of the crews way, some of his steps caught him off guard as he walked, he hadn't fully gotten used to walking around a ship while the uneasy waves were constantly hitting the hull. He was still trying to figure out how Kidd had such a power over these men as ended up near the front of the ship, leaning on the wooden rail over looking the sea.

"Ye don' seem to have yer sea legs on you boy" a slightly drunken crew member stumbled over to him, a few of them were tipsy as it was but they were consistent with their jobs, but this one couldn't keep his mouth shut. His rum stenched breath hazed over Flynn, it's not the best thing to smell when your stomach's already turning from being at sea.

"Seems like you don't either mate" Jacob retorted as he noticed the man with a drink in his hand and his stumble, he put two and two together which didn't take long.

"Don't back talk boy, try to make a good impression on us or it won't end well" he leaned on the side of the wooden ship, his body language screamed confidence, but not the type you'd be proud to have, this was drunken confidence, the one that makes you a fool in the eyes of any sober being, the bottle of rum in his hand 3/4's gone, he took a gulp, wiping the drops running down his lips with his spare hand, classy.

"Okay mate, if you stumble back to your job and leave me be then we won't have a problem" Jacob's hand gesturing to where he had seen him working before he rudely came up to him.
