The sun shone hot on the streets of Los Angels, I had come over to visit my best friend for a convention that was happening. We were both pretty hyped for it. Trinity welcomed me with open arms, and a suffocating hug, as we hadn't seen each other in a year and that wasn't okay.
I finished setting up in her spare room and noticed a flash of neon green move in the window next door. It made a faint smile come onto my face as I thought of Jack, and I decided to jokingly ask if Jack lived next door. "Actually," she said a wondering look on her face. "Somebody did just move in next door." She said but then she looked at me with a teasing smirk. "Maybe your true love moved next door~" She taunted me, I shoved her shoulder and rolled my eyes. I brushed it off. There was no way things could work out that well.
We planned a night filled with storytelling and laughter. We built a blanket fort and selected a few movies as background noise. The situation was almost perfect.
"Z~" Trin whined, flopping onto her armchair in a melodramatic way. "We need more snacks! And I need bubble tea." She pouted. It was obvious she was nagging me to go do it.
I sighed heavily and straightened my flat Irish cap in a huff. "Fine, you arse!" I turned on my heel with an eye roll and walked towards the door.
"Wait!" She yelled, and I turned to stick my tongue out at her but instead got greeted with her wallet hitting me in the nose. I fumbled to catch it but with my shitty hand-eye coordination it ended up flopping to the floor. I glared at her as she looked at me with a smug smirk plastered on her face. "You'll need money~" She purred, her head resting in her hands.
"Shit head!" I yelled before I grabbed my spare key and made my way down to the store. It was only a 7-10 minute walk luckily so I didn't spend long in the heat.

As I had just finished buying our snacks and had two bubble tea's in a carton balanced in one hand when I saw another flash of green, The man who the green was attached to seemed to be looking around confused. Eventually, he turned more so I could see his face.
It was Jack!?
I was so excited I swear I nearly forgot to breathe. But I braved myself to take a step forward and walk closer to him.
"Um, Hi! Jack?" I asked, just wanting to make sure it was him, he turned to face me and his beautiful eyes meet mine in a moment of perfection. I swear I felt my heart skip a beat.
"Hello! Do I know you?" He asked, his voice sounded even more beautiful in person.
I knew I was staring at him with amazement and woke myself up. "No, actually I watch your videos. Um, you looked a little lost so I thought I would offer assistance?" I asked him if he lived at the address next door to Trin and he looked slightly concerned as to how I knew that. I tumbled over my words and explained that I was actually temporarily living next door to him and that I saw a flash of green in the window next door and I just wanted to offer if I could help him get home.
He smiled and accepted my offer and I let out a sigh of a relief. 'Way to go, Zia, make yourself seem like a stalker the first time you meet in person.' I scolded myself and started to lead the way. Jack offered to take the groceries and I said he didn't have to but he insisted.
We chatted as we walked, and I found out we had a lot in common and that was amazing, somewhere along the way, my hand found it's way into Jack's. I didn't notice, as this was a little quirk I have. When I'm happy and comfortable with someone I will often grab their hand.
Luckily, Jack didn't seem to mind.

When we got to Mark's and my hand was still tucked into Jack's as he knocked on the door.
