Chapter Four: Secrets and Surprises

{Annie's pov} Dear Diary, it's been a few weeks since I met Hayden, and I'm becoming great friends with him, he's teaching me how to skateboard, I'm teaching him gymnastics, it's all really fun! We've seen each other everyday for the last two weeks, and we've gotten really close, I can practically tell him anything. Like one time I- My writing was cut off by my mom yelling into my room in our apartment, "Annie it's time to leave, are you ready?" I closed my diary and locked it, grabbed my purse, and made sure I had everything I needed. I wasn't quite sure where we were going, but I had a good idea.

When we got to the bottom of the stairs in the apartment building, we met up with Hayden. "Hayden," I asked nicely, "Do you mind telling me where we're going?" He laughed, "Sorry Annie, I'm not allowed to tell you, it's a surprise." I made a pretend angry face at him and crossed my arms, he laughed, "C'mon, let's go." We all got into the car and Hayden tried to put a blindfold on me, "Hey! What are you doing?! No!! I don't need a blindfold, Hayden!!!" He sighed, "Annie calm down, I just want you to be surprised where we're going." I quieted down a little bit, "Fine, but what am I supposed to do on our way there?" He let out a little laugh, "You know you can still talk to me with a blindfold on, right?" I smiled, "I guess I didn't think of that."

I let him put the blindfold on me and then we started driving. My mom and Mr. Jimmy were up front, and Hayden and I were in the back. "Ok," Hayden said, "We're going to play a little game." I sighed, "Hayden you know I'm no good at guessing games!!" He luaghed, "I know but it'll be fun, Annie, trust me. So what's going to happen is: I'm going to say the names of things I see on our way to our destination, and you have to use those hints to figure out where you think we're going." I smiled, "Okaaayyy, that sounds like fun, but I think I already know where we're going." "Take a guess." Hayden said, "Universal?" I asked hopefully. "Nah, that wouldn't be too much of a surprise, would it? I'll give you one hint before we start the game: Light."
