She looked at this man as he set her down  "My name is Grant Ward," he whispered gently. "Can I have your name?" she looked up at him, biting her lip nervously "L-Lillian...." she spoke, looking down to the floor. "Okay, Lillian. Um... Do you need anything? I can get you a change of clothes or you can take a shower," he said hesitantly. "I have food on the stove and you can... You can sleep here if you need to rest."she looked up at him, she was so confused, other than her real dad, or Lucy... she didn't know someone like him could be nice "I-..." she was so use to being hurt when she asked for something, food seemed good to her bu that meant she was taking food from him. "You?" He pressured gently. He took a step back to give her a comfortable amount of personal space. "If you're worried about depriving me of something I need, don't. I live in a dinky apartment by choice, not because lack of resources" she looked up at him confused, how did he know? "I haven't eaten in a while... " she whispered quietly, she honestly didn't want him to hear her... "Come on, I don't ever eat all the food I make anyways," he said softly. He held his hand out to her to help her up. she nodded a little bit "okay..." she spoke, nodding a little. He nodded towards his hand, "Come on" he took it, her gentle soft hands, shaking. He smiled softly and helped her up, "You good?" she nodded "I think so" He slowly let go of her hand to let her walk on her own, turning towards the kitchen. "I hope Italian is okay, it's the only thing I can actually cook besides steak and pizza." she nodded "I've never had it" "You've never had Italian?" He asked in disbelief. she shook her head "usually not aloud to eat... only a small snack a day..." she spoke looking down to the floor. "that is.. From someone I use to live with" "Oh," he said quietly. she nodded "its mostly just like, a piece of bread... or a cracker... or on good days he'd give me a fruit of some sort" she bit her lip nervously, closing her eyes. He hesitantly reached out and rubbed her back, conscious of her personal space but wanting to comfort. she flinched a bit, not expecting it, she then looked up at him, blinking to keep back tears. she looked at him, her eyes sad, yet curious at the same time, he was being nice to her. "Need a hug?" He asked. His tone was almost playful, but not quite, it was still sad and sober and quiet. she nodded a little bit "I.... Sure I guess...." it was obvious she was never usually hugged. He slowly brought her closer, hugging her softly. she just stood there awkwardly, she didn't know what to do should she put her arms around him? she was never allowed to... He brought her hands up to wrap them around his neck, "Like this. And just hold on." she nodded a bit, immediately when he'd got her arms up close, she had to get up on her toes a bit, doing so. "There you go," he said softly.she nodded a bit and bit her lip nervously, she stood there like, that, unknowing of what else to do. He pulled away slightly to look at her, "Feel better kiddo?" she shook her head a bit "I hurt...." she spoke, looking down, not meeting his eyes "Where does it hurt?" He asked gently. "I'm a trained medic, I can help you if you let me." she sighed "almost everywhere.." was her short answer, she didn't feel comfortable with him treating the wounds on her thighs, so she didn't feel like telling him. "Any that it would be okay for me to treat?" He asked. He didn't expect her to let him treat all of them, he was a stranger after all. "And I can give you a healing salve so you can do the rest in the bathroom if you so choose. she sighed "can you, maybe check over some.... some stitches?" "Of course," he nodded. she nodded a bit and took off her heel boots, showing a large, deep cut from her knee down to her ankle, stitches terribly done. "he cut open my leg and then trapped me in a room... I... I stitched it and it hurt so bad.... and I don't know how to stitch...." she spoke. This had been a while ago, but it hadn't healed...."Oh goodness... I'm gonna do these nice and proper alright? I have to take them out. It looks like you missed an area there and that's gonna get infected. We can't have that" she nodded, her breathing starting to become heavy "I-is it gonna hurt again?" she asked "Hey," he said gently, rubbing her shoulders. "I'll give you a bit of morphine and it won't hurt a bit. Lighter than a pinch."  she looked down "whats that?" she asked nervously. she obviously hadn't been out much."It's a pain killer. Won't do anything to you, I promise," he said, smiling softly. she nodded "okay... I.... I don't know if I believe you.." she admitted. "That's okay, that's perfectly okay. That's good. Means you have your wits about you. I'm a stranger so yes, you shouldn't believe everything I say. Come here," he said, leading her to the kitchen. He took a small bottle and a dropper, putting two drops in his mouth to show her it wouldn't hurt her. she nodded a little bit, looking up at him, watching him. she didn't react other then her blue eyes turning to a darker shade of blue. He looked at her eyes curiously, staring without realizing or meaning to. she looked up at his, biting her lip nervously. blinking a couple times as her eyes then became lighter, if he knew what her eyes did for emotions, then he'd know that this was sadness, although, sometimes her eyes changed to this color when she was nervous. He smiled slightly and broke eye contact, "You'll only need a drop. You've look like you weigh as much as a hummingbird." she looked down nodding a bit. He got a drop of the liquid into the dropper and held it out to her, knowing she'd probably prefer to do it. she bit her lip and dropped some in her mouth, furrowing her eyebrows at the taste. He got out a needle and medical thread, motioning for her to sit down. she sat and bit her lip, looking down "don't you have to take them out first?" she recalled what he said earlier. "I will," he nodded, taking out a small knife. He cut one end of the stitch and then the other, putting the knife away and slowly pulling them out. she nodded, looking down nervously. He carefully restitched it, standing to grab a cloth and gently wiping away all the blood. she watched him, It felt so weird seeing blood and skin being pulled but not feeling pain. "There we go," he said, looking at his handiwork. "You're all good Ms Lillian." she nodded "Ms?" she asked in confusion. "you're a young lady, it's only proper," he says. She sighed "Honestly, if you don't mind... I... I don't want you to call me that" "That's perfectly okay," he smiled softly. She nodded a bit "okay.. Good." She spoke. She then looked down as he served her some food, the night went on as she ate, showered and then stayed with him, talking or doing something. She was soon asleep, he had told her to sleep on the bed, she didn't know if she liked that he had to sleep on the couch so after a bit of convincing she finally got him to sleep on the bed, her beside him. They just slept, nothing else had happened. _______________________________________________________________________________________A/N Hey guys! so, that's he end of the book. please comment if you want a second book, I'm not sure if too many people enjoyed the book to my lack of updating due to writers block or other distractions.
