Prologue

"No, they can't be coming down this soon"
"But they are, that's what these scans show!"
"Maybe the sensors are faulty and they think that the meteors are coming down when they aren't"
"We would've gotten a warning if they were damaged"
"So how long do we have?"
"A day, tops"
"Worst case scenario?"
"1 hour"
"WHAT?!"
"Calm down"
"HOW THE HELL CAN I BE CALM WHEN I COULD DIE IN AN HOUR?"
"It could be more, we don't know!"
"WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!"
"STOP ARGUING, BOTH OF YOU"
"Ugh, fine Dr. Arnold"
"Now let's listen to what Dr. Mendez was saying Smith"
"I was saying that, we may not have as long as we thought"
"What do you mean?"
"The meteors"
"What about them?"
"They were supposed to be coming down in a few years"
"And?"
"They're coming down today" Dr. Arnold scrabbled to a phone.
"What's wrong Dr?"
"I need to call my daughter and make sure she's safe!"
"What good will that do?"
"What do you mean?" Dr. Arnold said with an edge of venom.
"They could come down in an hour, he'll they could even come down right now for all I know"
"Well what do we do now?"
"We wait"
"For what?"
"Our dea—" an explosion sounded to the south
"Wing A, let's move" All three scientists ran down the hallways to Wing A where a scene of destruction met them.
"What the hell happened here?"
"Look in the crater" Dr. Arnold replied
"Oh shit that's a meteor!"
"You never should've said that the could come down now you idiot!" Suddenly a series of explosions came down the hallway they just came through, trapping them.
"Dr. Arnold, we don't have much time before the ceiling collapses and kills us"
"So? There's no way we can get out of this" The high pitched scream of metal on metal indicated that the ceiling was about to collapse.
"Please let Ashley survive" Dr. Arnold mumbled seconds before he died.

All over the world cities were being destroyed by meteors. Buildings being sliced in half by sheer force, burning holes made in the ground where the meteors struck. Only one city somehow doesn't get destroyed, Toronto.
