Valerie's POV -------------

I got out the keys to my new apartment. So this is what being independent feels like,...

Off with the moment. My mom and I came in with boxes and laid them on the floor.I looked around. It had about 3 rooms inside and a bathroom. After we took all of the boxes out of the car, I felt a bit emotional.

"Honey, are you alright?" asked my mom as I sat down on the plastic wrapped couch she bought me for my 17th birthday.

"Yeah. I guess I am..."

"Okay," said Mom. "Then, I guess I'll leave you here. Bye Valerie."

"Bye Mom."

She walked out the door and closed it quietly. Now what do I do? Find my room? Let's start with that. I walked over to a medium sized room. This could be my room. It's next to the bathroom so, that's an advantage.

I walked over to the window. This spot could be where my bed could be. And that spot near the corner could be where,..

Connor's POV-----------------

",....So, I told the guys, Hey! isn't that a towel!" laughter followed that not-so-funny joke Brian, my new boss, just told.

"Brian, you're SO funny!" said Madelyn, his assistant secretary. She use to be my best friend. But then things changed...they changed.

"Thanks, babe." he said winking at her. She swooned over him as he leaned over the counter.

"So, Connor, how is that hot girlfriend of yours? Valentine, right?"

",... Her name is Valerie. And, were not dating any-"

"So, Madelyn, I was thinking about that decision you told me during Council meeting this morning and,..."

Did he really not care what I was going to say? What a jerk. But, I still hang out with him because he's my friend. And we're both in the College Council. It's a thing that you get to make events and all that stuff.

"It's so boring! Who would go to that?" said Brian.

"Lots of people! Couples could go to that..."

"Let's ask Connor. What do you think of that Connor?"

"About,..."

"About the College Council making its first annual Valentine's Day Dance!" said Madelyn.

"Oh,...I guess that's a good idea,.."

"See! Even Connor approves of it and he doesn't even HAVE a date!"

It got silent when she said that. I looked down.

"Connor, I'm so-"

I got up and headed towards the door.

"Where you going Connor?" said Brian standing up.

"Home. I,I need some rest." And with that I closed the door and headed home.

Valerie's POV----------

 I finally finished settling in.

On my left, the conjoined living room and kitchen. My room and the bathroom. It may sound small, but I still have quite a lot of space in it.

YAY.

Might make me some homemade coffee!

YAY...

lol

I go over to the kitchen and take out the coffee beans and looking for the coffee filter...

Coffee filter??

Where are me coffee filters!?!?

Ugh. I bring no coffee filters.

damnit.

Might as well ask my neighbor.

I put on Connor's old sweater because, it's really warm. And it still smells like him.

I walk over to the door.

"Yes?" the guy says as he opened the door.

I looked up.

It was Connor Franta
