Eye Color

Eye color is probably the biggest trip-up when it comes to 'genetically possible'. Any cat can have yellow or green or amber eyes, but not any cat can have blue eyes.

All Siamese cats have blue eyes. They cannot have yellow, green, or amber. But we're not talking about cat breeds; we're talking about random cats bred in the wild with  no specific breed.

Blue

Blue-eyed cats are not as common as the Warriors Community makes them out to be. It is my understanding that cats cannot have blue eyes without having a significant amount of white on them. I have heard that there is an exception for gray and black cats, but I don't really know that.

Blue eyes are rather common in pure white cats. But here's the catch: Blue-eyed, pure white cats are almost always deaf. That's right - deaf. There was only one cat matching this description that was deaf. And how many weren't deaf? I don't know; too many. At least half of those cats should have been deaf. That's just the sadder, darker part of life.

An all-brown cat cannot have blue eyes. An all-ginger cat cannot have blue eyes. This counts for other colors of cats too. A cat cannot have white unless it is black (i think), gray, or has a significant amount of white on its face.

Green

I have only ever seen two green-eyed cats. Two. One was black-and-white, and the other was ginger with white paws. As far as I know, any color of cat can have green eyes. Personally, I find green eyes much more appealing than blue eyes. Actually, yellow/amber eyes are my favorite.

As you can see, cat eye colors are very muted

As you can see, cat eye colors are very muted. Even when they're bright or bold, they're not glowing, as often described in OC forms.

Green-eyed cats, in my opinion, are best with black or dark fur, but you should give your cats variety. Really, you should. Variety is more important than being non-cliche. Make a cliche character every once in awhile (not too cliche, mind you) so that your background cats aren't always the same.

Hazel

Hazel is probably the least common cat eye color in Warriors fanfics and books. As you can see from the image below, hazel eyes are brown with a ring of green around the pupil.
