"You just got home?" Jungkook threw the comment over his shoulder when he heard the front door open. He could feel the atmosphere in the room crumple to the ground, a cloud of hostility in Jimin's presence. He's already bothered by the sight of me, I can tell. Jungkook thought to himself and he sighed, getting up from his seat on the sofa. "You're probably tired, but can you sit here with me for a minute?" He pointed back at the sofa. "I want to talk, baby. Can we talk?"
Baby. The word burned it's way through Jimin's skull, reaching him at his core. Jimin's sanctuary. His heart lurched and he could feel the rebounding effect of Jongseok's red hot anger singe through his mind. The man hated it when Jimin's heart reacted, the one thing he wasn't able to control.
"You're right, I'm tired. Can it wait?"
Jungkook shook his head. "I'm always waiting for you. We really need to talk."
Jimin sighed, but it wasn't him acting annoyed. Of course not, all he wanted was to talk with Jungkook. "Why now? I had a long night."
"Doing what? Where did you go?"
"It's none of your business, Jungkook."
"It is, though. I'm your boyfriend. We live together. I should know where you are and what you're doing."
Jimin scoffed. "You sound really controlling. What's your problem?"
Jungkook closed his eyes and shook his head again, almost willing to give up like he always did. "You're my problem. You never want to be around me anymore. You never talk to me."
"Why are you so needy? I have a life, get over it."
"No, I won't get over it. You act like I'm a burden to you. Am I a burden? Why have you changed so much?"
Jimin dropped his bag off next to the door and he walked to pass Jungkook by the sofa. He grabbed the remote from the table in front of it and raised it to turn off the Television. The room fell into an eerie darkness, the only light illuminating from the kitchen. "You want to talk? Lets talk. Sit."
They both took a seat on the couch, facing each other and Jungkook watched his boyfriend, studying the altered behavior as deep as the mans mannerisms, his movements. "Tell me why you avoid me, Jimin. I deserve to know that much." Jimin's hand came up to pull at the ends of his hair and a small smirk lifted the edge of his lips, but he didn't expect for Jungkook to notice it.
"I've been struggling, Jungkook. I'm not having an easy time."
Jungkook narrowed his eyes at the other, following Jimin's hand motions, his changing expressions. The face of a liar was before him and it twisted in a way so unnatural to Jimin. "What's wrong, baby?" That word, Jimin lips twitched as he said it. It made him uncomfortable.
"Everything that happened before, with her, I keep thinking about it. It makes me feel.. Like I don't want to think about it. I don't want it to cross my mind."
The younger nodded his head, accepting Jimin's words for the moment. "Why does that make you avoid me? I could help you not think about it, we can be together, baby."
Jimin sighed, scratching his head. His fingers jumped, coming down to fidget with his bracelet. He avoided eye contact completely, a man that once wouldn't live without staring Jungkook down at every chance given to him. "You remind me of what happened, your face. This apartment reminds me of her. I don't want to think about it." Jongseok was laughing at Jimin in their shared thoughts, oh how much torture the poor soul was enduring in the moment. He must have come to a stroke of brilliance to tell such a twisted story, only hoping for Jungkook to get off his back so he could have more time. All Jongseok needed was time to find somewhere he wanted to be. A new life, as a much younger man.
Jungkook laughed suddenly. "I think you're lying."
Then Jimin's eyes raised to meet Jungkook's. He faked the best stare of innocence he could muster in the moment and creased his eyebrows in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"You're too different. This isn't you, Jimin. Jimin would need me, he'd want me beside him if he's hurting. You're lying."
Jimin's heart beat rapidly in his chest, banging so hard Jongseok was afraid of it being heard. He cleared his throat to cover it, but Jimin was screaming so loudly in his head. "What exactly are you saying, then? I think this talk is over. You're only making me feel worse."
Jungkook smirked. "You're going to feel really bad really soon, baby. Call me crazy, but I think I know why you're acting like you've changed personalities. I know why you're so different."
"I think you're losing your mind, Jungkook." Jimin rolled his eyes and he moved to stand up from his seat. Jungkook's hand came to stop him, gripping his wrist in a tight hold. He pulled his arm to take it away, but Jungkook was so strong. The mans touch made Jongseok feel sick, it enraged him. He pulled his arm back harder, hard enough to make Jungkook's nails dig into Jimin's skin. He could feel that pain and it made him see red. "Let go of me, this is absurd!"
"No way." Jungkook smiled. "I have to find out who you are, but I think I already know."
"You're a lunatic!"
"You're not my boyfriend."
