"Trying to forget someone you love is like,
trying to remember someone you never met."
Chapter 1 - New Year
"Cammie, are you coming to the party?"
I shift the phone in my hand to my shoulder, keeping it in place with my head tilted slightly as I drew the last few lines of my drawing. "Yeah, I'm coming. Audrey's coming too, so you better dress your best." I teased, wiggling my eyebrows although he couldn't see me.
There was a slight pause before Cameron groaned. "Why are you only telling me this now? You should have told me earlier. What color is she gonna wear?" I chuckle when I heard fumbling and scraping sounds. Cameron is probably going through his closet.
"Purple." I answer simply, smiling as I could imagine Cameron digging through his drawers for his purple tie. "We went shopping yesterday for our dresses. Hers is quite short so I recommend doing a classic move- lending your coat to her. She'll be expecting it."
I could sense Cameron's smile. "Thanks, sis. Don't know what I'd do without you."
"Just do your best moves tonight. About time you impress her, Cam."
Cameron chuckled. "Enough about my potential date tonight, make sure you arrive before 7. I'll have a parking spot reserved for you but if you're late, I'm giving it out to others."
"Such an amazing brother. Thanks, Cam." I say dryly, tidying my things on the table. I glance at the clock- 12.10 pm. Should be enough time to get ready and drive there. Now where's Audrey?
As if on cue, Audrey came busting in. "Cammie, you won't believe how long my class took. Thank God its the last class of the year and I won't be seeing Mr. Walter for another two weeks." She stops her rant when she sees me on the phone, a smile making its way onto her lips. 'Is that Cameron?' She mouths.
I nod with a knowing smile. I hold the phone out to her as Cameron go on and on, not noticing that I have stopped listening to what he has to say a few moments ago. Audrey walks closer and beams. "Hey, Cam. Its me, Aud. Can't wait to see you tonight."
"W-wait. Audrey? Oh, hey."
I laugh, slapping Audrey's hands away from snatching the phone in my hands. "Smooth, Cam." I comment, getting up and walking towards the fridge. "Back to the subject, we'll be there on time. No worries." I grab a bottle of water and hand it over to Audrey for her to help me unscrew it.
"Good then. I'll see you there, Cammie. Love you."
"Remember what I told you." I sing, sitting on a stool as Audrey opens the bottle cap for me. "See you, cam. Bye."
"Bye!" Audrey calls out just as I hang up. I shake my head at her as I take the bottle and take a few sips. Audrey just shrugs and start going through the cabinets for a snack. "When should we get ready?"
"Around 2 or 3 pm. As long as we get there before 7." Audrey nods in agreement, opening a bag of chips she found. "So, how was class?"
Audrey instantly groans, the bag of chips falling onto the kitchen counter. "It was too long. Mr. Walter went on and on about why class should be longer because its the last class of the year. 1 hour turned to 2." Audrey angrily munches on her chips. "He should learn to relax."
"Well, maybe you should take it seriously for once." I reply, stealing a chip from her bag. Audrey raises a brow at my response. "You are taking acting, so you have to appreciate that he's doing it for you to get better."
"Easy for you to say. All of the teachers love your art. You're lucky you actually have talent. Studying art looks easy."
I poke her on the nose with a laugh. "Speak for yourself, Aud. You have amazing talent in acting."
