Draco was excited but nervous to go back to hogwarts so he could find his mate. He knew it would be a nice slytherin girl but he couldn't help wonder if it would be a boy. He always knew he wasn't solely attracted to girls but he never knew what he was.
Him and his mother used floo powder to get to London and board the hogwarts express. Ten minutes later, Draco and his mother were passing through the magical barrier to platform 9 3/4. Draco frantically looked round the platform in search for his mate, even though he knew nothing would happen to help him find them until the next morning. He saw Harry Potter with his friends about to get on the train and felt a tingle when he saw Harry.
"It's just because of all the hate. I have missed him though. To pick on of course." Draco thought to himself.
As he said goodbye to his mother, she desperately whispered into his ear,
"Draco, you must find a mate. I can't lose you. I love you darling."
"Mother don't worry, I will be ok"
"Ok I'm just overreacting. Now get on the train darling." She finished with a small smile.
Draco got on the train and started searching for a carriage. He found one about halfway down the train with only Luna occupying it. He carried on walking, hoping to find another one but they were all full so he made his way back down and asked Luna if he could share the carriage. Of course, she said yes. Draco had always admired Luna, but he could never be nice to her for the sake of his reputation.
"Well my reputations ruined anyway after I was let off for being a deatheater because of the fact I never killed anyone" he thought with a sigh. "At least I can be nice to people now and actually focus on my work"
About an hour into the journey, the metallic buzz of the speaker rang through the carriages informing the students of their upcoming arrival at Hogwarts and a wave of excitement passed through the train. The hairs on Draco's arms stood on end and he realise only then how much he had missed the place he felt was his home. Nerves and longing coursed through him as he imagined how happy he would be when he arrived.
