Chapter 15 - Call

Levi

I laid on the sofa and watched whatever was on television while Eren ate up his cake pop. Though, I didn't feel too great now thinking about if Reiner was going to force me away from Eren. Then I'd be stuck back at the prostitute house and soon be with some other new man.

This was horrible.

Eren noticed that I wasn't feeling ok, and went to sit next to me. "Hey...you seem down." He still had a cake pop in his hand. Idiot.

"No. I'm fine. It's just..." Should I tell him about what I saw?

Eren watched me, anticipating what I was going to say next.

No, I should...should I?

But before I could say anything else, the home phone rang. The phone had an automated voice that said that Reiner was calling. My body became stuff with fear.

Shit.

"Huh? Oh god. I'll be right back, Levi." Eren got up to pick up the phone. "N-no! Wait!" I yanked the bottom of his shirt and pulled him.

"Levi, hold on!" Eren told me to let go. And I did. Trembling.

The phone would've stopped ringing if I hadn't launched at it. I had no idea Levi was so persistent in wanting me to stay.

I answered.

"Eren." I could hear the slight smirk in his voice. As always.

"What do you need? It's so late, Reiner." I replied.

"Is it that, or too early?"

"What do you want?" I replied sternly.

"Eren, you enjoying that boy, Levi?"

"Uh...yeah. Why?"

"I'm thinking about just maybe cutting him loose now. You know, around his time you're telling me that you're through with the current prostitute here. Just letting you know."

I noticed that I had stopped breathing throughout his reply.

"..."

"Eren? You there, still?"

"...I'm keeping him for a little longer, ok? Not now."

"I didn't say now, Eren. Just informing you that I'm gonna put him back to his slut house."

"He's not a slut."

Reiner gave out a cold laugh.

"So you have feelings for him?"

I paused. I heard Levi shuffle in the background. He was probably wanting to hear the conversation.

"I'm hanging up, Reiner. Don't call again if it has to do with getting rid of him." And I threw the phone down.

Reiner of course never listens, and I heard my phone buzzing with nonifications all coming from him.

Levi was asleep. I think.
