Slowly but surely every student left that exam hall wondering about their efforts, Whether it was enough to get them into their desired collage or sixth form. Poppy was just glad she was finally out. Before the exam she put her hair in a messy bun, she hated it up, always said it made her face look fat. Of course everyone disagreed. Rosy red cheeks was what she was known for, when asked on in class, when embarrassed and even when she was warm Poppy took upon her flowered form. It was cute especially the fact she was embarrassed of it which only made it worse. Its funny how your ideas of your own imperfections are others ideas of your perfections.
The ride home was short and sweet. Her mother didn't talk much, i believe its the result of her talkative Dad, he's a comedian so its hard to keep him quite. They lived in a quirky house, clean and modern on the outside with variations of different colours that don't necessarily match shoved into the same room. It was as if creativity tripped over and spilled his box of goodies, or, as Poppy likes to say, Cat in the hat paid a visit and they're still in the clean up process. It was safe to say there was never a dull moment when walking around the place, she was always inspired by the clashes of objects and ideas matched with them. The walls were so bright, they made beautiful backgrounds for her Outfit of the day on instagram, gained her a few followers too, there was at least one comment on each post acknowledging her aesthetic.
Despite all of this, Poppy's favourite room was without a doubt her own. Boxes upon boxes lie under her bed of record vinyls all neatly arranged in alphabetical and band order was always an interesting aspect of her 'sleeping quarters' as i remember her saying. However my favourite aspect was the amount of posters hung up around the place, big pictures of Declan Mckenna and the Pigeon detectives coloured her dull cream walls, Polaroids of her and her friends in various modelling poses and spectacular scenery blue tacked up in clusters signifying her best days. She was definitely sentimental.
