The Missing

I'm cornered, my heart is pounding so loud I feel like it might jump out of my chest. Eyes wide, muscles tense, I feel sweat dripping down my forehead as I glare at the pack of glitches standing in front of me. They snarl and growl and hiss, trying to swipe at me from my treetop perch. I look down, there's too many, My mind races trying to find a solution, and then it hits me, the bomb. it's strapped to my back! I remove the explosive from my back, and as I'm setting it up, I see a figure in the distance. Lil?, I squint trying to make out it's features, it is Lil! She's looking at me, eyes wide with panic, almost desperate. I give a little wave, trying to reassure her that I'll be ok, but before I can, a glitch attacks me, setting off the bomb.

A loud deafening BOOM goes off,

And everything goes white...
