Waking Up

I'm running through the empty parking lot, a pack of glitches at my heels, I push myself to run faster, go go go, come on Carlie, you can make it! I can see it up ahead, just a bit closer and-

I wake up with a start, jerking up and hitting something hard above my head,
"Ouch.." I mutter softly, rubbing the soon to bruise bump on my head. I glare at the object which caused my pain, it was what looked like it used to be part of a children's playground, the seesaw. I scan my surroundings, confused and in pain. There's an old swing set that most likely, used to have swings, from I remember what playgrounds were like.

Biting my lip, I try to remember what I was last doing,

"Glitches... tree... Lil... bomb... bomb... BOMB" I panic, standing up, I let out a bloodcurdling scream, and collapse back to the ground. Tears running down my cheeks I look at my legs covered in blood and ash, one in particular, is bent awkwardly, not just one, but multiple different places. I inhale sharply, and slowly shift my posture so I can see my wound better,

Oh

I'm definitely not walking soon.

I stay silent for a bit, voices in my head shouting at me,

"What are we gonna do?" The tiny voice of Alex whimpers

"GIVE ME A SECOND TO THINK ALEX" Nathan practically roars in frustration, causing me to wince and Alex to fall silent.

I hold my head, as a flood of voices begin speaking at once,

"Guys please! One at a time!" I shout, then realizing my mistake, I fall silent and so do they.

"What's that noise-" Nathan whispers in my head,

Alex lets out a whimper, Amelia gasps.

I look up, scanning the (actually really creepy) abandoned playground, the forest surrounding me used to be a calm and peaceful feeling, now the trees look as if they're looming over me. I suddenly feel the need to find a safer spot than here. But I still can't move-

A twig snaps, and then, silence.
I heave myself backwards, taking a mental note to loose some weight, I'm now under the slide. I peek around the corner, and see a figure walking out of the forest. They sit down on the ground in the middle of the playground and- are they crying? I raise an eyebrow, they look pretty young, probably younger than me. I note that they are carrying a gun though, not a good sign for me if there're insane. But, then again,

I am too.
