Just so we are clear you pronounce the boys name m•mur•ick

Ring! Ring! Ring!

I sat up quickly in a daze. I tiredly rubbed my eyes and reached for my phone.

It took me a while to find it, but when I did, I swiped across the screen to anawer the call.

"Hey girl!" My best friend Janice yelled through the phone.

I held it away from my ear to cringe from the loud noise.

"Can you hush. I just woke up." I whispered.

"Just woke up? Your momma is going to kill you."

"What do you mean?"

"The new neighbors, brownies,
lemonade. Does that ring a bell?"

Shoot

I pulled the phone away from my ear to check the time. It was....eleven in the afternoon!

I jumped out of bed and ran into the bathroom across from my room.

I quickly tried to brush my teeth and wash my face at the same.

It only resulted in toothpaste on my cheek and soap in my eyes.

Jesus christ! It buurrns

I rinsed out my mouth, eyes, and face.

I dried my face off on my towel and turned on the shower.

I didn't try to fix my hair, and just threw it up in a messy bun.

"Latoya!" Janice yelled through the phone.

Shoot. I forgot she was still there.

I ran back into my room and picked up the phone.

"Sorry boo. Im trying to hurry up so I dont have to meet my maker today."

As you know, I was supposed to go to the store for my mom and get some groceries.

I had to make brownies and lemonade for the new family moving in across from us by twelve before she got home.

I personally think a good hi is enough, but my mother thinks otherwise.

I had about an hour to get this stuff done.

I searched through my closet for something to wear.

I decided to go with a purple tank top and some black shorts.

"Girl, hopefully they have a son. I need me a man." Janice said through the phone.

I shook my head as I headed to the bathroom with my clothes, under garments, and phone.

"The last thing you need is a man." I laughed, putting Janice on speaker.

"Hush, you know you want one. Maybe they have boy twins our age. Then we can go on double dates and....."

Janice carried on speaking while I stripped and hopped in the shower.

I took a quick military shower.

When I got out, Janice was still rambling on about sexy twins and date locations.

I dried off and got dressed in my clothes and headed back into my room.

I threw my phone on my bed, and my dirty clothes in the black hamper in the corner of my room.

"Which perfume should I use?"

"The black one that smells like sugar and flowers." Janice said.

I picked up the perfume bottle and spritzed my body.
