I was born and raised in this endless war
A soldier with an unexamined life
I fought both good and evil
I guarded my heart from what I wished were lies
I got promoted to Commander and chief
I gained an army, a strategic mind,
manunition
Manunition to keep my fears at bay
Manunition that only suppressed what I hate
Little did i know.
I won battles.
I prolonged the wars so i could win more,
Before war, I yell to my men "Godspeed!"
"Kudos" to me, they roared
My army, filled with 1000 men
600 on horseback, 300 on foot, and 100 guarding and surveying from all angles.
I overthrown a king, my greatest victory yet
I had everything I ever wanted and needed
I treated everything I had as if a piece of me
My men, my thoughts and feelings.
My people, my body.
Then the time came!
My pride got the better of me
I found myself challenging a king
way more skilled than me
I felt like lightning before the thunder
A legend, yet to be
I left my 100 to guard my people
I watch my 300 get slaughtered effortlessly by a fraction of what seem to be a legion.
I was standing hesitant with my mighty 600
I sent them charging
I watched them fall
I stood there alone
Pick up a sword and shield and stood my ground
I yelled, "who brings this war to my kingdom?"
I waited.
Then a voice from the heavens came
It forced me down to the ground on a knee
Hard to breath, I was lost, I had lost
Help me
"Tis the one you failed seeked and it's death you shall reap."
The voice proclaimed.
"Who are you to destroy my thoughts and target my body?"
I asked and continued
"I am a king, who can and will face these odds"
"What is a king to a God?" He asked.
My shield fell immediately.
My kingdom was swallowed up by fire
My people, my body, gone in a flash
"I came for you, for the time has come,
to examine your life and make a choice"
He said.
"Take me my life and use it how you please
For a king of your stature deserve me on two knees!"
Help me, teach me
"As a soldier in your army I shall not reply, I shall not question, I shall do and die" I continue.
I stood up firm and stronger than before
I was fitted with gear
Protected
I fight for the One that save me from my fall
The One that gave me a chance and a plan
The One that commands and protects from above.
The One that cut my heart and left faith, hope, and love.
