She's sitting on the couch when he comes over next. It's been a week since that day that they visited his father and little sister, but they've both been so busy. They have both applied for college and today, their letters have come in the mail.

He drives over to her house with his mother and they walk inside. It's quiet and the air is tense. He has three letters, and she has five. They applied to two of the same colleges, and are hoping to go together.

Her eyes are wide when she sees him and he can tell that she's nervous. They each put the two similar colleges on top of the others and decide to open those first.

They both take a deep breath and tear open the envelopes. An excited smile immediately graces her lips, and one takes over his as well when he reads the words.

Dear Corbin Knack,

We are pleased to accept you into our university! He stops reading there, that being all the needs to know at the moment. He looks up and sees her looking at him nervously. He smiles reassuringly. "I got in!"

She drops her letters to lunge across the space between them. Her arms wrap around his neck as her body crashes into hers, and the impact knocks them both backwards. He crashes into the wall behind him, not that he cares. The love of his life is in his arms, and soon they'll be off to college together. Their parents smile and her mother can't help the tears that she gets in her eyes.

She pulls back from her hold on him and kisses him softly, her lips molding to his. He holds her up as she jumps excitedly, latching her legs around his torso. His lips curve up into a smile and he laughs against her lips. Her grin gets even wider and she whispers breathlessly to him, "We're going to college together."

"I know," he murmurs back.

She gets another burst of excitement and buries her face in his shoulder as she hugs him tightly again. She's giddy with joy and she can't contain it- not that she's really trying. He kisses the side of her head and then he sets her back down. "Come on, sweetheart. We still have to open the rest of the letters."

She furrows her eyebrows. "But why? I already know I want to go here."

"Aren't you curious?" He asks. "Plus, if there are betters offers from better schools, you need to go."

She shakes her head. "I go where you go. I don't want to go to the other schools."

He doesn't say anything to that. He doesn't want to hold her back from something amazing, but at the same time, it makes him happy that she wants to be with him.

They open the other letters. They both got into the other schools, but they still both choose the one together. She refuses to go anywhere that's out of state, and he wouldn't tell her, but he's relieved. He really didn't want her to go.

He hugs her one more time before he turns to leave. She jumps up after him and gives him a knowing smile. He knows exactly what she means, and as she takes his hand in hers, he falls even more in love with her.

He starts his truck after they're both in and they're off. He knows exactly where she wants to go without her having to say anything. He drives for a short while before pulling off onto a familiar dirt road, then parks the truck and takes her hand again.

He leans down to kiss her softly, his hands landing on her hips gently. She smiles before pulling away from him, a mischievous smile on her lips. She takes off running through the sunflowers, laughing as he chases her. He catches up to her and wraps his arms around her waist, holding her tightly to him. Her back is against his chest and he leans down to kiss her neck softly. She immediately stops trying to run, instead leaning back into his arms. "I love you," she tells him, causing butterflies to erupt in him and his heart to thump wildly. No matter how many times he hears her say it, it still has an effect on him.

"I love you too," he replies, tightening his arms to hug her closer. "I always have."
