Do I go..or do I not go? Go or no? "I fully intend to finish what I began." he said with a tint of humor in his voice. 10.00 clock at his mansion will surely lead to more than just talking. Did I want more than just talking? I..AISH!! "This is so damn annoying!!" I yelled to no one in particular.

That's it! I'm not going! I'm not that cheap woman who falls in love with a guy who kisses her on the street. I have my own status to uphold. Which is nothing compared to his. "Be strong, girl!" I mentally told myself.

When it was 10.00 clock, I did not even bother to go to his mansion. Instead, I went back home and retired for the night. When I woke up the next morning, my mind wandered to Ferid. Will he get mad? Obviously! I just ditched him! I really hope I don't see him today.

Turns out, luck was on my side! I didn't see him today, nor the day after, nor the next few days. Slowly, the incident faded to the back of my mind. I spent my days happily with my cold best friend, Mika.

One day, one of those self-conceited snobbish progenitors decided to throw a masquerade party. Probably he had too much money on his hands and didn't know how to spend them wisely. Don't they know that there are beggars on the street??!! Anyway, invitations were send to all nobles and commoner vampires. That includes Mika and I.

I didn't want to go, but I was afraid people might talk behind my back about how I am being an unsocial freak. Plus, the party might put a smile on Mika's face. Since I wasn't so keen on going, I just chose a simple red dress with a black bow tied around my waist. I even managed to find a black mask to match my dress.

Mika was my escort for the party. I smiled when I saw him wearing a tuxedo with a black mask. "You look stunning, Mika!" I exclaimed. He merely rolled his eyes and held a hand out. "My, thank you! What a gentleman!" I teased him as I took his hand.

When we walked into the ballroom, my mouth literally hung wide open in shock. Damn, this progenitor really spent a lot of money on this party. The ballroom was just exquisite. The walls seems to be glittering like gold. Huge beautiful chandeliars hung from the ceiling. The sound of music filled the room. There were masked figures moving so gracefully on the dance floor. "This is just..amazing." I breathed out. Even Mika was too speechless to say anything.

A few other city guards came over to us and started chattering happily about the party. I looked around at the other guests. It was hard to recognize any of them with their masks on. I think I saw Krul wearing a stunning knee-length black dress with a black mask that was decorated with feathers. Her pink hair and height gave her away.

I looked away from her and scanned the crowd. I felt like I was searching for someone in particular. But I had no clue who it is. Suddenly, I felt someone tap me on the shoulder. I turned around and gasped in shock. I stepped back and almost stumbled but he was there to catch me.

"Are you alright?" he asked. I couldn't nod. I couldn't speak. The playful voice, the striking white hair, the sadistic features on his face. It was him. The one I was trying to avoid for ages.

Mika turned to see what the commotion was about and growled. "Ferid." he said coldly. Ferid just smiled at the blonde. "Forgive me, Mika. I need to steal your date for I have things to discuss with her." he said with a smirk.

Before Mika could respond, Ferid pulled me to the dance floor. Soon, we wre dancing among the crowd. I looked down at the floor nervously. I was very well aware of his hands on my waist and his breath on my neck. I think my heartbeat just accelerated.

"Why so shy all of a sudden, (Y/N)? I thought you were a feisty one." Ferid asked playfully. "Ferid, I'm sorry. I.." "Sorry? Whatever for? Ah, yes! That night." he said. He put a hand below my chin and pushed my face up, my (e/c) ones stared into his red ones.
