A few hours later and I was waking myself up, sounds of wolves howling and laughing stirred my tired eyes apart. My hand rubbed against a tired face, huffing as covers kicked to the end of the bed I got up. As I passed one of my windows I get a good view of all the action, females were lined up for Trenton to find his mate. All dressed in the most absurd thing their closets had. My eyes rolled. Truth be told I loved jeans and sneakers, comfy cotton shirts and bennies.
Yea I was that kind of girl.
Dragging a brush threw my dull looking caramel hair I let a annoyed sigh out, what was the point of even going down there. I was never going to be Trenton’s mate. And even if I was what was the likelihood he’d not reject me. The bagging on my door started me back as I poked my head out of my bathroom.
“Sian! GET UP” My brother laughed. My eyes rolled, looking back at the mirror.
“I am up you jerk” He laughed again trying to open my very locked door.
“Sian….stop locking your door. Are you doing dirty things in there?” I could almost see him wiggling his brows, it disgusted me.
“Leave me alone before I tell mom where you keep your nastiest” It was more fun to say it like that then, porno magazines. His soft playful growl echoed under my door, making me smirk just a little.
“You wouldn’t dare” It hissed trying to make me scared.
“You bet I would” He growled again.
“You’re a pain…hurry up. I want to go” Before I had a chance to respond his heavy foot beats took to the stairs. Another sigh left my lips. I have been sighing more and more lately like I am bored, or just unhappy. For a wolf to be unhappy can kill them, which is why I think my brother makes it a point to take me out of the house every day.
Grabbing a dark blue beanie and my black converse with red laces, that matched my gym shorts and black tank top. There was no point in trying to look like a girl when your flat as a board. Ready to ask my brother if we could skip going out the back door I was in luck when he was standing by the front door, his hand on the knob looking slightly annoyed.
“Damn you take forever” I sighed not bothering to mention that I take less time then him.
“Where are we going?” We normally ran the Southside borders.
“I need to check the northern side, is that okay?” His brows went up watching me closely, instinct to keep the topic of Trenton off our lips made me glare.
“What? I can’t ask where your taking me…geez Seth I was just wondering. Maybe I’ll just go back to bed” I pushed my bluff by turning around like I was headed back upstairs, his eyes widened before he gently took my arm.
“No…I was just…Sorry sis. Please come with me.” His begging eyes were not needed, I’d go even if I didn’t want to. Another sigh passed my lips.
“Fine” His blue eyes sparkled while wrapping an arm protectively around my shoulders, a kiss to the cheek and Seth pulled the door open.
Our feet pounded against the rust colored earth, the darker bark of evergreens shot up all over the place. Birds sang sweetly while small critters scurried to hid from us, smells of fresh dew covered leaves wafted threw the air like honeysuckle on a warm spring day. Half paying attention to where we were going or doing Seth stopped suddenly, his deep thunderous growl caused me to go wide eyed.
Before the word left his lips I already knew what that deep musky smell was, Rogue in all their darkness. Four grayish oversized pony wolves crunched across leaves, their ears pricked to the back of necks. Eyes glowing with fire like desire, my foot stepped backwards causing two to look away from my brother. Seth roared launching for them, his scream linked me hard.
~RUN SIAN~ As his fist collided with the closest ones nose. Frozen like a block of ice I stared, the two who had turned more to me hissed a laugh. Seth screamed into my head once more, it shook my wolf awake.
~I SAID RUN SIAN~ Waves of power crashed into my face, it momentary woke me just in time to dodge an attack from a out stretched paw.
A pop…or a snap echoed threw my head.
It felt right…good, blissful even. I could feel my body tingling, its fiery heat pumped my blood faster. With one swipe of my hand I hit a jumping rogue, his body flew past Seth into a tree knocking him out cold. Catching the bright eyes of my brother in a stunned fashion I licked my lips, I craved more yearned for it so badly. When the second rogue charged I smiled sadistically.
Gray fur blurred some when he darted to the left, my feet planted firmly I waited. Like I new what I was doing, deep energizing breaths filled my lungs. Not once had I been taught how to fight, not once had I trained with the others. But this…..felt so good. Empowering even.
He made a critical error when his paw snapped a small twig behind me, spinning around faster then I thought was even possible for a werewolf my left leg swung up. I watched as my converse became nothing more then a shadow, the red of laces my only indication it was even real. The yelp after a earth shattering crack was all I heard before the rogue flew into another tree, his body slide down into a heap of gray mush.
The remaining rogue tucked tail fleeing my brother and I. Seth’s eyes were glued to me, wondering and confusion passed by him before his throat moved. His mouth moved but no words escaped, finally unable to say anything he wiggled a finger at me. Cocking my head to the side in question Seth fumbled for his cell, the mirror like cover was shoved into my face. Raising my brows I looking at the cell only to drop it with a scream.
It bounced off the leaf littered ground landing face down so the mirror shown up at me, my eyes flickered downwards as my body shook from fright. Even my scream hadn’t sounded like myself, it had sounded more…feminine.
Fingers fidgeted while I shook uncontrollably, allowing my eyes to once again look at the reflection. It made me gasp. No longer did I look like some tomboy with very little sex appeal, long gone was the little twig of a sister who so desperately wanted to be beautiful in the eyes of more then just her family.
Shakily my hands moved to my face, slowly outlining the smooth lightly tanned skin. It seemed to sparkle with a radiance I’d only seen in movies or cover magazines. The wind blew softly twirling my longer rich earth colored hair, spots of sun broke threw evergreen needles bouncing off each little strand.
