The air conditioning unit had broken a few days ago, and the fan at one side of the room was the only thing that kept Hoseok from sweating like crazy. Tablet in hand, headphones on, he was ready to be the first to listen to the song. He'd heard Taehyung practice it continuously, while they were brushing their teeth, while they played games, while they simply rested, even while they had a pillow fight a couple nights ago.

That pillow fight was why the air conditioning unit was broken, and Hoseok laughs a little, watching the clock ticking. His eyes never left the second hand, opening up the music app as soon as it strikes 12 am.

After all, he was Kim Taehyung's biggest fanboy, even though he wouldn't usually admit that out loud.

"He sounds so manly." A heart-shaped smile is formed on Hoseok's face, as he listened to the song, his head rocking side to side as he took in the soothing music. "Namjoon sounds so good, too."

As someone who enjoyed melodramatic movies and books, he really loved the song, the lyrics that had touched his heart right as Taehyung sang them, his beautiful voice that made Hoseok's heart beat a little faster. Ah, if only Taehyung realised how beautiful he sounds.

But he never believed any of the compliments he received, and it was about to be four years while Taehyung lived, denying that.

The music is soft, so soothing that Hoseok falls asleep after a while.

Taehyung, who gets into their shared room a few hours later, changes into his sleeping clothes, a satisfied smile on his face. He was receiving a lot of notifications on twitter where his fans were praising his new song along with Rapmon. The clumsy boy is laughing at the comments he read as he got on bed with a plop, hitting his feet on the footrest while he does so.

Hoseok wakes up at this, rubbing his eyes as the music on loop hits his ears right away.

"Oh, there you are. I fell asleep waiting for you." He says, sitting up. Taehyung seems a little surprised, watching the way Hoseok gets off his bed and sits on his own.

"That song was your best performance this year." He comments, a big smile on his face. Taehyung has an even bigger smile on his face, he was happy even before, and now that his hyung praises him, he feels even happier, clapping his hands together and putting his smartphone down.

"Really?! I think I could have done better, though..." It doesn't take long for him to turn doubtful, and Hoseok raises his hands up and cups the younger one's face.

"I'll slap you if you don't believe me." Hoseok hisses, grabbing both of his cheeks. Taehyung laughs, his usual happy laugh that deserved to be protected, if only he realised. There still was half an hour or so to strike 4 am, and it didn't seem like either of them had any intentions of sleeping yet.

"Taehyungie, want me to tell you a little story?"

"A story?"

Hoseok nods, already excited with the way Taehyung crosses his legs and gives all ears, ready to listen. Ah, they got along so well, they were so similar, kind of like the sun and the moon; different approaches but they were there to brighten up the surroundings.

At that moment, Taehyung was Hoseok's sunshine.

"It's about a boy I met four years ago," Hoseok starts. "And he was so beautiful, so talented, his voice was so wonderful. I knew he'd be my favorite, the seasoning I'd always pick for my noodles, the topping I'd prefer on my ice cream, my other half in this boyband that I love so much."
