Although reluctant, I sat at the edge of the crystal clear water doing as I was told. My infant of a sister balanced  nonchalantly on the smooth stones along the sides of the river. The basket to my left was overflowing with sunflowers and lavender colored flowers all for my mother's birthday. All was well, as so it seemed. A hot blazing sun glared down on us blinking rays of heat upon our bare necks. "Arlee!" My sister shouted, followed by a gargantuan splash disrupting the balmy water. Among the waters edge my sister, wailing frantically, was flailing about in the river with her head hardly above the water gasping for air. I tore off my clothes leaving me in my undergarments. I dove into the freezing water lapping in a refreshing way against my hot, sunburnt skin. My arms snaked around my sister's waist, tugging her closer to me as I hoisted her up onto the rocky shoreline. Her pale skin shone like a porcelain doll in the  blazing summer sun.  She sat there, her chest motionless along with her breathing. I broke into a paroxysm of sobbing as pearls of tears rolled down my rosy cheeks. My body collapsed onto hers, bringing myself to kiss her cold forehead and bring her into a warm embrace. Heartbroken and ever so lonely, my heaving body pressed against hers, resting against her lifeless one.
