"So, why exactly are you here Mister 'John-John Richards'? Civi, scientist, or engi?" Lucy asked.
"Uhh...S-scientist, yea. I'm a scientist." John answered.
"Okay, we are definitely going to have to work on your speaking skills man." ,Lucy joked, "So you said you're a scientist, exactly what 'science' do you do?"
"I'm a botanist..." John said while rubbing his head as if in shame.
"Botanist huh? Here to smell all the pretty roses are we? Well atleast you might know what's edible or not on that rock." Lucy stated.
"Well..I-I should probably go find where all the others are..some are bound to have woken up by now." John excused.
"You do that, flower boy." Lucy joked.
An hour later an announcement blares through the ship "Attention crew, this is your captain, we will begin our descent to the planets surface in approximately 30 minutes. Any colonist wishing to view the descent should proceed to your nearest observation deck. That is all" and with that the ship speakers fell silent once more.
As Lucy proceeded to her nearest deck she couldn't help but feel atleast a little excitement.
I can't believe I'm actually about to be one of the first humans to step foot in an entirely new solar system. She thought to herself. 30 minutes passed and as the planet grew ever larger, white tounges of flame began to lick at the windows of the observatory. While the ships internals kept the temperature at a steady 31 degrees Celsius, Lucy along with many other colonists felt it was slowly getting hotter. In another uneventful 30 minutes the ship had breezed through the atmosphere and made its final approach to the landing sight. A large, flat plain with mountains surrounding it's northern side, and a large lake approximately 3 kilometers at its widest, the plain would serve as the perfect staging point for a startup colony. With ample wild life filling the forests to the south, food would hardly be a a problem
