today was the day, eleven thought. this was the day she can marry the love of her life.
"el?" max opened the door by a little bit.
"yes?" eleven replied, "it's time" max said, smiling a bit. max's eyes were red from crying for her bestfriend since 1984. all of the gang were 40 now. el didn't even look like she was in her 40s. she looked like she could be 20. her face was soft and pale.
"hey sweetheart" joyce said softly while walking in nancy's room. el flashed a smile when she saw her mom walking in. "your brother wants to talk to you."
"will or johnathan?" el asked. "will" joyce says while smiling. joyce gave el a kiss on forehead and eleven walked out of the door with her big white poofy dress. she saw will looking sharp in a blue suit along with his fancy black shoes.
"el," will says trying not to cry "i'm so proud of y-you" he let a sob escape his mouth and el hugged him, and of course, will hugged back sniffling.
"will, i love you so much" el said while smiling.
"eleven, honey! get down here!" hopper yelled from the kitchen.
eleven went downstairs to see karen, hopper, max, joyce, ted, jonathan and nancy smiling.
"dad, thank you. i love you." el said while sobbing on hop's shoulder.
"it's okay, kiddo, i will love you till the day i die" hopper says while hugging el. "are you ready?"
"yes"
the first one to walk down the aisle was nancy and jonathan's daughter, rachel as a flower girl. she was only 8. next up was max and lucas' son, joey as a ring bearer. and he was 10. next was nancy and johnathan, tommy h. and carol. will and jennifer (hayes). max and lucas. dustin and phoebe. then eleven and hopper. joyce sits in the front smiling proudly at her daughter. el walks up to mike and says their vows.
"still pretty?" el asked.
"yeah, pretty. really pretty." mike replies to his beautiful almost wife. mike puts eleven her ring on and el does the same.
"you may now kiss the bride"
those words made el blush hard like a tomato, but mike leans in for a long kiss and she kisses back. mike carries el bridal style and throws the flower bouquet. phoebe, dustin's girlfriend catches it. dustin blushes hard and reaches something in his pocket. a small black box. then dustin leans on one knee.
"phoebe, my love, will you marry me?" he asked. phoebe covered her mouth with her hand and responded: "yes! dustin henderson! i will!".
"well i can guess who's getting married next" mike and el said while forming a smirk on their faces. they all laughed and partied after the wedding.
"i love you, el. 34 years ago on this day. i met you in the forest. comforted you. provided you shelter, gave you eggos, and love." mike says.
"i love you too, mike" el replies while tears streaming down her face and laughing.
