The story of Queen Scarlet

Beginnings

Princess Scarlet sighed, honestly another dragon trying to tell her what to do. Everyone always thinks being a princess would be great but it was a curse that she would not give to even her worst enemy. Everywhere she turned dragons were there "I heard she is weak" the court would snicker "I hope she is never queen" her future subjects said even her own Father, actully especcially him. Everyday he would drill the same thing into her head "You are Princess Scarlet, soon to be Queen Scarlet, strike first or your sisters will become queen first, move faster than that little princess, when your mother fights you it will not be practice" or the ever popular " you are Princess Scarlet, you mother means nothing to you, your sisters mean nothing to you, I am the only one that matters to you".

No matter how much he said that though she still cared for her sisters Crane and Copper, they were twins and it would be hard to beat them to the throne, but again when was it ever easy?

Her mind shifted back to the meeting she was at with her mother Queen Hummingbird and sisters, they were being addressed to resolve a problem, sure their mother could do it but when you were at Scarlet's age every word was a test to prove you could be a leader. A pale orange dragon turned to her( GAH why can't she remember his name, oh yeah Russet) Now Princess Scarlet, what should we do about the rebellions taking hold in the western part of the kingdom?

"Well" she replied "I think we should hear their demands and see if any of them are realistic" In her opinion that was a very good response and was sure to calm them, but Russet sure didn't think so " Well Princess if we were to do this then the rebellion would just increase and they would ask for more and more things" At this point Scarlet was certain smoke was shooting out of her ears, she sat up taller and mirrored her mother's imposing stare that screamed "you think your better than me, think again" and narrowing her eyes to slits she glared at Russet and smoothly said "Remember when I asked for your opinion" then before giving him a chance to answer she spat "Yeah neither do I" Russets jaw dropped open as though shocked even someone with a higher rank then him could say that to him, then her father wispered in her ear "Good but you must keep your claws sharp, you may have cut down this room with words but they won't cut down your mother" then Queen Hummingbird glared over at him but did not seem to know what he said. Then leaving on a high note she slid out of the room making a point to "accidently" scratch Russet foot.
