Alone in a fairly lit grotto, a man and a woman, surrounded by towering, lanky willow trees, stand together. He was immensely tall and very strong and had a kind face that scared most enemies off in an instant, he had a wild look about him. She was the opposite, as she was not very tall and had a little bit of strength and her face was very kind and gentle and brought most people joy and her smile was contagious to those around her. The sun shimmering around them, as golden leaves, from the oak trees, fly past. The autumn wind wisping through the woman's long hair, leaving a pleasant aroma through the grotto. The couple stands, calm and collective, away from the anxiety of their daily lives. He worked as a hero, protecting the innocent and saving the day and working in a superhero team and she worked in a lab, alongside the CEO of the company, making gadgets and weapons for the heroes to use and working as a CEO of a very famous music industry. Their days packed with peril, trouble and adventure, with little time to rest and very little time to spend with one another. The worries haltingly flow away, as he grabs her hand and they start to dance, time soaring past as their feet move. Slowly descending, the majestic sun turns to an alluring moon, and in the pale moonlight, the two continued to dance. The air was placid and the taste of fresh water from the spring filled their mouths. This was one of the only way they could have some peace and quiet from their friends. They knew it was risky, as the grotto was in a place were thieves liked to pillage, but that did not matter, as all was right at this one amicable moment.
However, all that changed when a deafening cry petrified the pair. Bandits had surrounded them, guns loaded and they were lead by a man whom the hero had fought before, a bad man with dangerous abilities. He pushed her behind him, out of harm's way but it was no use. They were surrounded and the result would be beyond death. They had heard and seen what happens to the people who had been kidnapped by this man. The men were forced to fight or are tortured to the point of madness, and the women were treated in ways that cannot be uttered in any way with being traumatized and disgusted. All prisoners eventually died, some in the arenas, some in torture and most killed themselves from the utter pain they had endured. No one ever survived being taken prisoner by this man. No one except the superhero team and the last person to be kidnapped, the woman in the grotto. The first bandit sprinted forward, baring a knife, towards them. He pushed her towards a cave, hidden by the rapidly flowing water of the waterfall, hiding her. The man brought up his sword, and ran towards the bandit and shoved him deep into the woods before he struck the bandit down. More and more, bandits pilled onto the man and that's when the mobsters were thrown into the flurry. The blaring of gunshots raging through the air. In an instant, the hero had knocked them all down. Cascading across the lush grass, blood turned the tender green into a dastardly crimson. Scattered around him, bandits and mobster lay still as if they were dolls of a young child, left out to be played with again but he knew they would not be getting up again. The only person left was the menace. The hero demanded to know why he was doing this, he reply was nothing but a smirk and a menacing laugh. He was met with an answer that did not bring any joy to his heart. The menace had said, "Isn't it obvious, why my dear friend, I want you to suffer. You have that poor girl wrapped around your finger, too bad she is going to have to find someone else." And with that reply, the dastardly man shot the hero in the lower abdomen, to bleed out. Turing swiftly, the cowardly man walked away, arm waving goodbye simply stating, "Au Revoir, my friend." and disappeared into the chilling night.
If anyone could say their fears aloud, the hero would surely say two of them. The first would be if the woman he loved were to die in his arms or be taken away from him and the second would be to be laying somewhere and not being able to do anything at all and was injured or dying so painfully slowly. He was living that second fear right at that very moment. He attempted to call for help, but his voice was failing him. Yet he had hope so he flipped himself over and crawled towards the grotto, knowing that she would still be there.
