A bone-chilling mist clung to every surface in the early leaf-fall morning. Cold licked at Vulturepaws face creeping under his thick pelt. He had joined the patrol escorting the medicine cat apprentice to the other clan to obtain some herbs the clan needed. The patrol consisted of Vulturepaw, Softpaw, Copperwhisker, and Rockjaw. Rockjaw lashed his tail shaking his dripping pelt."It hasn't rained and yet somehow I'm still getting soaked daily!" He growled stomping ahead of Copperwhisker who was leading the group.
"It'll start raining soon and ill hate to see how you handle actual rain in your pelt if your this ruffled by a bit of mist" Copperwhisker mused jokingly.
Softstep was trailing behind looking intently at a small crack in the ground. Perplexed Vulturepaw trotted over nudging the fellow apprentice along.
"We don't want to get left behind it'd be strange if two warriors went to their camp asking for that herb you need?"
Softstep let out a snort hurrying to catch up with the two warriors who were arguing about the best way to make it to Cove Clans camp. Softstep was someone who always confused Vulturepaw he was the most pessimistic cat Vulturepaw had ever met and he thought all medicine cats were supposed to be positive. He was also very intelligent and some of the things he would talk about to the other apprentices confused Vulturepaw.
Forrest gave way to rocks as they crossed the border. Rockjaw looked nervously for a patrol too stroll by and lead them to camp. The patrol clambered down the rocky cliff side reaching the sandy cove the clan was named after. Still surprised they hadn't ran into a patrol the patrol cautiously made their way through the bushes that worked as the entrance to Cove Clans camp. Cats looked over startled by the intruders.
Shardclaw the deputy of cove clan raced over fur bristling.
"What makes you think you're welcomed here why didn't you wait for a patrol!" He hissed eyes narrowed in anger.
