"STILL CAN'T HEAR YOU WHAT?!?" I shouted over the blasting music.

It was the last party of the summer holidays, so we were enjoying and partying hard, going out with a bang is what we all said. It was more like a rave party than a regular house party to be honest.

"I SAID JOSH IS LOOKING AT YOU!!" Heather shouted, she was my best friend since middle school, we helped each other a lot, from doing homework, to have a shoulder to lean on during sad and tough times.

"YOU'RE CRAZY! HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW I EXIST!" I yelled, taking a sip of my alcoholic beverage. "HE'S TANNER'S BEST FRIEND, HOW COULD YOU NOT KNOW HIM?!?" She yelled in surprise. "NEVER CROSSED HIS MIND TO INTRODUCE US TO EACH OTHER I GUESS!" I replied.

I looked to see that this Josh guy was indeed staring at me. Tanner walked up and greeted him. I immediately looked away, my face burning up, but I laughed it off. I then noticed Heather wasn't around, probably going to see our other friends.

School was in two days anyway, high chances we might bump into each other in the hallways or might even end up having the same classes. Now that I'm thinking about it, I do wonder why Tanner hasn't introduced us yet, he normally does that to everyone. Maybe he's still waiting for the right moment? Who knows, this does appears to be a good opportunity, to me at least.

"Skylar hey!" Tanner slurred, burping shortly after. "Hey Tanny, go easy on the alcohol would you? That's what, your fourth drink already?" I said to him, saying his usual nickname I had for him. "Need to talk to you, 'bout important stuff." He continued to sound slurred.

"You're drunk Tanner, I think you should go home. Casey is the designated driver for everyone, he will be more than happy to drive you home." I told him, giving him a smile.

"Not, done yet. Hey, did I ever told you that, you have really pretty eyes?" He asked, chuckling a bit before burping again. "No you didn't, thank you Tanner." I said to him in a mocking tone, he was drunk anyway, there's no way he will remember this.

"Just out of curiosity Sky, but what's your bra size?" He asked another question. "Okay, you know what? That's enough for one night Tanner. Come on let's go." I told him, guiding him out of the house. "Did I make you mad? I'm sorry Sky." He apologized, burping again. "No no, I just think you partied a little too hard tonight." I assured him, now outside on the front yard.

"Someone needs a lift?" Casey asked, smiling at us. "Yeah, Tanner here needs to go home, drink some water, and rest." I responded. "Yes mom." My friend replied before burping once again. "Don't worry I'll make sure he'll get home." Casey exclaimed, putting Tanner in the back seat, who was now laying down on his stomach.

"I feel kinda bad, you know, last party before our summer break ends and here you are the designated driver. You should be at least having a blast too with all of us." I sounded guilty.

"It's no worries Skylar, I happily obliged. Besides, it was Hank's turn last year and we all agreed upon me this year." He reassured. "Wow, talk about planning way ahead huh?" I asked, sounding flabbergasted. "Yeah. Well, see you in two days at school if we don't cross paths later again in the night." He said his goodbye, starting up the car. "See you Case, drive safe." I told him.

I watched as he drove away.

The huge rave like party went on for another three hours before it finally started dying. Casey drove back and forth, dropping off our future classmates home. Believe me, they would be. Even if some of us aren't going to be in the same classes, we would all end up graduating with each other, so to me, they are still fellow classmates.

Me, Heather, and her boyfriend Kane started to help clean her house. It actually didn't take us long, sure we partied like animals but we didn't act like one. Before you know it, the house was all clean and tided up within fifteen minutes.

"Thanks for helping to clean up. If I was doing this alone, I would still be cleaning." Heather thanked us, also giving a huge smile. "It's no problem babe, after all, since you've thrown like the biggest party before school starts, the least I could do in exchange is to help." Kane said while hugging her from behind. "You don't mind if I stay here for tonight? I'm too exhausted to walk home, besides, Casey drove everyone and I'm sure he's tired too." I exclaimed. "Of course Sky, there's the couch or the guest room you could crash." My best friend answered. "I might take the couch, thanks. Don't know if I'll change my mind." I replied.

"Well, either way, have a good rest and sweet dreams." Heather beamed.

"Goodnight love birds." I joked.

"Goodnight Sky." The two said as they began walking away, with Kane still hugging her, I heard the two laugh when they bumped into the wall.

I ended up going to the guest room, which was only two doors away from Heather's room. Not that it was a bad thing, but sometimes, I would end up hearing her groan in her sleep. Just a bad habit she has and we both knew it wasn't snoring.

I made myself comfortable under the blankets as I started to drift to sleep.

About four hours later, I bolted up when I heard a piercing scream coming from Heather's room. I got up and sprinted there immediately.

Upon opening the door, I saw Kane on the floor with four long scratch marks on his arm and Heather hyperventilating, she also had scratch marks similar to his but they were on her chest instead.

"What the fuck?" I ended up blurting out.

"Heather speak!" Kane shouted as he cradled her in his arms.

"The fuck happened?! Did anyone broke in?" I questioned, sounding panicked.

"No signs of a break in, I would say no obviously! Call 911!" He also panicked.

I ran to the living room and grabbed the phone, immediately dialling for help.

"911 what's your emergency?" He asked.

"My friends got attacked by an unknown force, they're hurt badly and need immediate medical help." I tried to sound calm as possible.

"Help is on the way ma'am. Do you have any ideas on who or what this unknown force is?" He questioned.

"No. I woke up to hear my friends screaming and I found them hurt. No one was around at all." I explained.

Once the ambulance arrived, I told the operator that they were here. He told me that they would take care of the rest and I could hang up, which I did.

The scratch marks wasn't deep enough to be considered life threatening so that was good news.

The question was,

Who the hell attacked my friends?
