Savannah Jay Carter
"I can't fit anything!" I complained as I sat on the floor of the closet.
We moved into the new house three months ago and life had been going smoothly. Except for the fact that I couldn't fit anything over my 4 month belly.
"Baby, just wear whatever you want." Max said as he stood in the doorway.
I groaned and stuck my hands out so that he could help me up. He did so, pulling me to him when I was upright.
"Wear this, it feels stretchy." He handed me a beige dress.
I pulled it over my head as he helped me pull it down. It stretched over my small bump and hugged everything else, making me not feel as bad as I did. I pulled on some cheetah print flat booties and grabbed my red cross body bag.
"You look beautiful, Savannah." He said.
I smirked and kissed him on the lips.
"Thank you. Let's go." I said as I left out the room.
We walked out to his car and got in, pulling to the restaurant where our family was. We walked in, seeing them pleasantly conversing with each other.
"This can't be our family. Not mine at least." Max whispered to me.
I chuckled, making them turn their attention to us.
"If it isn't the guests of honor." Taj said.
"I couldn't find anything to wear." I shrugged.
I walked around the table, greeting everyone with hugs and kisses. People kept reaching out to touch my stomach to rub the baby. I finally got to my seat and sat down. Max took the chair next to me as I pulled up the menu.
"Did you guys order?" I asked as I flipped.
"We waited on you guys." Dakota said.
I nodded my head as I decided what I wanted before putting the menu down.
"Thanks for coming out tonight." I said as I looked around the table.
Everyone nodded and continued their conversations that were happening before we got here. I looked over at Max, who had his right hand on my stomach.
"Hey." I grabbed his attention.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Yeah. I just wanted to say I love you." I smiled.
"I love you too." He smiled back.
He kissed me then my stomach before returning to looking through the menu.
"So are you guys ready for the baby?" My mom asked.
"The room is ready, me and her are getting there." Max answered.
"You guys will be great. You do so well with your nieces and nephews." His mom said.
"Thank you." We said together.
"What about the wedding?" Luisa asked.
"That's done except for the dress since we're doing it after the baby is here." I shrugged.
I had planned a wedding and baby shower at the same time. Thank God for my mother, his mother, Taj and his sisters. All I had to do was show up at these events.
"Thank you guys for all helping." I said to them.
I looked over to see Yaris and Javier laughing together. Max saw it too.
"They're so cute." I said.
"No other man can make my mom smile like that." Max shook his head.
"That's how you make me feel." I looked over at him.
"I hope I can do it for the rest of our lives too." He grinned.
I locked our fingers together under the table. The waiters came by and took our orders before walking away again. We laughed and talked the whole night away. My life was going to be great if I was surrounded by these people all the time.
