Ever since everyone stopped doing there part, I had to learn alot. How to care for myself. I was living with my mom when it happened. She was at work and I was at home being a lazy piece of shit. She payed the bills and put food on the table and I just kept the house clean and food ready. Simple.
...
She died on her way home from work. She was in here car, about three blocks away. I called her but no answer. I thought, "She's probably busy." I just ignored it.
I went outside and it seemed quiet. "This is nice." I thought. I just sat on the grass. The sun was going down, and there was a little wind. I layed on my back looking at the sky with a blank mind.
If only life was like this all the time. Could it? If everyone just relaxed for a moment. Enjoyed simple things like the orange sky and smell of grass carried by the breeze.
...
"Right. That coming from the guy who never worked a day in his life. You dont know responsibility. You dont have the right to say it." My mind punishes itself but refuses to do anything to help. This is my sin. Im lazy.
I take a deep breath and sit up, taking my phone out of my pocket. No missed calls or messages. I probably thought she would'nt pick up so I just sent here a text.
"Hey, are you gonna come late? Do I make dinner?" If there's no text in an hour, I'll just make a cereal and go sleep. I layed on my back again.

....Its getting dark. Still no reply. The wind is blowing harder. Its been over an hour. Still quiet. At about this time, the person across the street should be getting home. I always here his car breaks screech, always when its almost dark. I stand up and notice, its actually pretty dark. Only a streetlight on the blocks corner, its light barely reaching me. Wierd, no one has there porch lights on. Its nearly pitch black, no moon either. I went into my house and hit the switch, but it didnt turn on. I tried on the living room and kitchen but nothing. "Powers out?"
....
Its really dark.
...
.....Where's mom?
