Chapter 13 • The Ball

Time skip, after the movie Adrien and Marinette watched

Chloe's POV

I walked out a bakery and passed by the theatre. As I was walking, holding a box of macaroons with my both hands, I spotted Adrien.

I quickly went up to him and saw Marinette beside him.

I wonder why Marinette is with him? Well, they are best friends so I guess thats why I thought

"Hey Chloe!" Marinette said

"Hi Marinette, Adrien" I smiled

"A box of macaroons? What are those for?" Adrien asked

I closed my eyes and hold up the box near Adrien "I was w-wondering if you could be my v-valentine. And h-here's a gift"

I opened my eyes and looked at Adrien's confused face then at Marinette's shocked face.

I cleared my voice and repeated what I said "I was wondering if you c-could be my valentine. H-here's a gift"

Adrien looked at Marinette who shrugged and looked at me.

"C-Chloe, you're a good friend and that gift is nice" He said.

I smiled.

"But..."

When I heard that word, I frowned and looked down, holding my tears.

"Marinette is my valentine. And w-we're dating" He said

"I-I understand..." I said and ran to my hotel, trying to hold my tears... and the box of macaroons.

When I arrived, I ignored everyone in my path and entered my room and locked it. Thats when I let go of my tears. I sat in my bed and hugged a pillown, putting the box at my side.

W-was I too late? W-Was my kindness not enough? I thought and ate a macaroon wont be needing these anyways

I cried while eating the macaroons until someone knocked on the door.

I opened the door and quickly sat on my bed. Sabrina entered and closed the door and sat on the bed.

"Hey, S-Sabrina" I said

"Hey Chloe. Marinette told me everything that happened and I came here to see you" She said

"But arent you supposed to help with the decorations?" I asked

"Yeah, but Max is there and I asked him if he could do my work for now" She said

"Oh... You're lucky someone cares for you" I said

She blushed "W-what do you mean?"

I giggled "Y-you know what I mean"

"We're just friends, Chloe" She said

"Oh really?" I giggled and frowned again "want some?" I asked, giving her a macaroon

She took a bite "Why do you have a box of macaroons?"

"It was supposed to be my gift for A-Adrien" I said and looked away

She hugged me and I smiled.

She broke the hug and said "Dont worry, I know someone loves you. You're pretty, nice, helpful. Every guy likes to be with you"

"Then why didnt Adrien want to be my valentine?" I asked

"I-Uhh... Well, Its his lost. Now, come on! Lets try on the dresses you ordered" She said with excitement
