Theme Song:
On Purpose by Sabrina Carpenter
You're scared, I'm nervous
But I guess that we did it on purpose, on purpose, on purpose
Baby, I know it's weird, but it's worth it
'Cause I guess that we did it on purpose, on purpose, on purpose
____________________If there was one thing Sirius Black prided himself on, it was who he was friends with. He had managed to break away from the mold of the Black family, and he had made three very good friends.
His best friend though, James Potter, was something else. The two of them were practically inseparable, which was how Sirius liked it. He liked that James didn't judge him just because of his last name. It made him feel even more free from his family. Especially now that they were staying with each other during the holidays.
For James Potter, Sirius Black was the best friend a boy could have. Sirius always made him laugh, even with his extremely lame puns dealing with his name. And he was fully supportive in James's attempts at wooing Lily Evans, despite the fact that the redhead had turned him down countless amounts of times.
So of course, when Sirius had showed up at his place before fifth year began, he readily agreed to let his best friend stay. Even before he got permission from his parents, although considering how they had a hard time saying no to him, it wasn't hard to convince them anyways.
Little did either sixth year boy know though, there were three sixth year Gryffindor girls who were vastly interested in their friendship. Or, more accurately, if it was actually something more.
Lily Evans, Marlene McKinnon, and Dorcas Meadowes all had different opinions on what was going on between the two black-haired Gryffindors.
"How can you think they're dating?" Dorcas questioned Lily. "Potter asks you out practically every day!"
"It's a front," Lily explained, calmly. "Why else would he be asking out the one person he knows is going to say no to him? He knows I can't stand him."
"I think you're both wrong," Marlene commented.
Dorcas and Lily both turned to give the blonde a strange look.
"How can we both be wrong?" Dorcas questioned. "Lily thinks Black and Potter are together and I do not. One of us has to be right."
"Not if they're simply sleeping together," Marlene pointed out. "You can sleep with someone without having feelings."
"No you can't," Lily said at once. "It's impossible to sleep with someone and not have feelings for them."
"Oh, you poor, naïve, Lily," Marlene said quietly, while petting the redhead's hair.
"I'll prove to you that they're dating!" Lily said, sounding frustrated.
With that, she walked out of their dormitory, and Marlene and Dorcas shared a brief look with one another. Without a word, they simply shrugged and followed Lily out of the dormitory, and down to the common room.
When they got there, they found that Lily had cornered both Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, keeping them apart from James and Sirius, who were on the opposite end of the common room, sharing one of the chairs.
