Ivy Lisa

So, okay, I get that Jordan was annoyed, but you don't burst in a hallway full of people. I mean, what was that supposed to accomplish? Right now, the trio are on the other side standing across the school's amphitheater, discussing the matter. I would go over there and complete the quartet, but I have to keep an eye on all these kids who're watching Despicable Me being projected on the huge wall in front of them. I wonder why I'd taken this responsibility. I mean, it's not much. I've just got to make sure the ninety first-graders are seated on the uncomfortable chairs, and that they're acting reasonably during the movie. I don't even know why the school's showing them this. How are a million pill-shaped minions related to the first-graders' schoolwork? Then again, they're just innocent first-graders.

I see Jordan approaching with Kylie and Savannah. I smile shortly, just to let them know that I'm acknowledging them. Kylie smiles back, Savannah winks at me, Jordan probably ignores it. They make a sort of circle around me. I back up to the wall, joining the circumference, if there is one. "So? I sensed a heated discussion over there. What'd you guys come up with?", I say, looking from face to face. Kylie's distracted already. She's typing away in her phone, probably texting one of her three crushes. I don't even remember their names anymore. Savannah's paying attention. She always does. Maybe that's why I feel most comfortable around her. Jordan? She's also paying attention. But she's paying the kind of attention I don't really want. She stares at me like she wants me dead.

"I'm not apologizing.", she says. My face falls momentarily, but I cover it up. "Oh.", I breathe. She stares at me some more. I assume she's waiting for something more. But I'm out of words. I look to Savannah for a little help. "Um, it was his fault too, but Jordan, do you honestly-", she starts. Jordan interrupts.

"Duh. Why? You think I should apologize?"

"I didn't say that, I just think-"

"Hmmm?"

"Just... don't take it so lightly. He was right too, you know?"

"Savannah Trinity, are you kidding me?"

Now Sav looks at me. I laugh, "Oh, lighten up, Vivian, she was kidding." Vivian's her last name. We call her that when we're playing around. Or when she approves. Sav joins in, chuckling light-halfheartedly. Jordan seems convinced, because she snickers eventually. "So, it's decided then. No apologizing.", she concludes. She walks off, taking Kylie by the arm. Kylie only looks up for a second at me, but then she gets back to her phone. She wasn't even paying attention to the conversation going on not three inches next to her. She didn't notice when Jordan turned on Sav. She didn't detect the fake cackle coming from me and Savannah. But that's just her, I realize, rolling my eyes. I look at Savannah and she's looking at her nails. She does that when she's bored, busies herself in 'subtle' ways.

"How long till you get off?", she asks, now that she realizes I have all her attention. I think about that. I could stay for another streaming of Despicable Me for the other upcoming classes, or I could go to my own class. "Um, not for another couple of hours, why?", I answer. I really don't want to go to class.

"I thought maybe we could go around for a bit."

"I could get someone else to take care of these monsters, but only for half an hour."

"That'll be enough."

"Okay."

"Yeah, because I really need to talk to you."

I nod and walk over to Walden, who's standing next to the screen, scrolling through his phone. What is it with people and their phones today? "Hey Walden.", I greet. He barely nods at me. Still in his phone. I wait for him to get off it. When he does – after about fifteen seconds – he says, "What's up, Poison Ivy?" I start at the mention of that nickname. He titters softly, seeing my reaction. I calm myself down.
