A.N/ - Sorry it took so long to get this chapter up! I've been busy with school and I'm just lazy. I've also figured out I'm a pro at procrastanating. But nyways, sorry about the short chapter, next will be long. Enjoy :)

Hospitals.

I hated everything about them, the smell, the doctors, nurses, everything.

I don’t understand how these nurses can walk around with smiles plastered on their faces with people dying all around them. Digesting.

I was sitting with mom in the waiting room, waiting for the doctor to come back in. I still had no idea what was going on, mom was too much of an emotional wreck to tell me anything. But I knew it had to be bad. Mom looked so drained she worked all the time to get the money to pay all the bills ever since dad left we were always short on money and barely got by.

Dad wasn’t something I liked to talk about, he was a sensitive subject. He was a lawyer, a very successful one. I remember in 5th grade we had to write a speech about who we looked up to, the person we respected the most, mine was about him, I wanted to be just like him.

But everything changes, nothing good ever lasts I guess. Just last year he had an affair with one of his clients. Their was no keeping it a secret from mom, me, or Jade. It made news and was everywhere, Everyone knew about it. We even got teased at school about it and people would always whisper, even the teachers.

But like I said that’s not something I liked to talk about.

I heard a creak at the door and saw a tall, foreign man come in, the doctor. He looked older, He had to at least be in his mid-fifties, maybe. He had tired eyes and his face showed no emotion.

"Well, it seems we have bad news on both parts, as you already know the fall that your daughter had broke her leg, the bone completely in two. But usually the bone she broke is extremely hard to break and a simple fall wouldn’t have done it, but we had to preform emergency surgery."

My mom broke down and started sobbing I’ve never seen her break down like this, not even when dad left she was usually so strong. I guess you can only keep it up for so long though until the reality of everything that had happened finally sunk in.

I should have probably comforted my mother, told her everything was going to be okay, even though I had a sick feeling settling in the bottom of my stomach telling me that it wasn’t. I should have hugged her. But I couldn’t I was too shocked.

She broke that leg because of me, I was the one that pushed her, and over a stupid guy of all things. Her own sister, someone who was supposed to be her best friend, and tell all of her secrets too.

"Ms.Jillian, while we were preforming the surgery we found something, a tumor."

Mom started crying even harder, and she was shaking this time, but I put a hand on her shoulder and gave her a little squeeze. "So, what exactly are you saying?" I managed to get out my own voice sounding distance, and not like my own.

"I’m sorry, I can’t tell you anything else until the morning, after she sees the specialist. But we will be sure to let you know more of the situation tomorrow, but as of right now I suggest you get some rest, both of you." and with that he walked out of the room, like it was nothing.

Like it was nothing that my sister possibly had cancer and was going to die.

He acted like he didn’t even care. I mean I know he didn’t know her, or us. But he had to go around telling people depressing news, that their family members were dying, seeing people cry, lose everything they have, and break down every single day.

And still he showed no emotion, acting like it didn’t bother him.

Like I said, I hated hospitals.
