Prologue
The only sound in the room was of me drumming my fingers off the table. I was focusing on it so much that I had a really good beat going.
"Do you mind?" A serious looking guy shouted over at me from his seat next to the window.
"Fuck off!" I said, giving him a dirty look. I continued on drumming my table.
He got up, scraping the chair on the floor, and stood in front of my desk. His lean, muscular body towered over me.
"Stop." He gritted through his teeth.
I leaned back on my plastic chair, my ass sore from sitting on it for so long. "You gonna make me?"
He stared at me, fists clenched, jaws locked.
The teacher 'Mr. Dickhead', a small bald man with a beer belly the size of a beach ball, walked into the classroom. "Is there a problem?" He asked, placing both his hands on his hips.
"No." I tried to say without bursting into hysterics.
Serious guy dragged himself back to his seat and the teacher left the room again.
When he was gone I burst out laughing hysterically. Something hit off my head then and bounced to the floor. A small triangle of paper from the one and only, Aya.
I leaned down to pick it up. Written in the ever so perfect, tidy handwriting was That's Blake, you don't want to mess with him.
I turned around in my seat and raised an eyebrow at her. Don't I?
"He has problems." She mouthed.
A wicked grin grew on my face.
"Alex." Aya whispered.
"You have problems, eh?" I shouted over at Blake.
"What's it to you?" He grumbled.
"Well, if you ever want to talk about them or even learn how to talk properly, I'm here for you." I said it mockingly.
He narrowed his eyes at me and turned to look out the window.
"That was mean." Aya came up to me after detention had ended.
"He was mean to me." I said defensively.
"Come on." She grabbed me by the arm. "We've got that thing to get to."
"What thing?"
"You know, that group thing we signed up for."
"I do not remember signing up for anything." I dug my heels into the ground and refused to move.
"Please, let's go." She got down on her knees and begged. "It'll be good." Puppy dog eyes looked up at me.
"Fine." I huffed.
She got up, jumping, and caught my arm, skipping me down the corridor a few doors.
"This is it." She announced.
"It's in school." That definitely made whatever this group was lamer.
I sighed and opened the door. There was only one other student in the room. Blake. I turned on my heel and headed back out the door.
"He's in there." I growled at Aya as she stood in my way.
"Well, you'll have to get over that." She turned me around and pushed me back in the door.
Little did I know, that the three of us would become literally inseparable.
