Nothing’s good beyond the veil
I like to think I captured your heart
Everything perishes without fail
Shame everything has to fall apart
I drive anxiously along an icy road
Desperately didn’t want to be late,
Watch out for that tree
Guess I won’t be making that date
I hated that I had to made you wait
Across the wind, the ice, the pouring rain
Perhaps all gone for time and fate
Did you spend your time waiting in vain?
Now spider lilies grow at my grave
They stagger against the carved out stone
Scarlet in the wind as they twist and wave
Don’t care for difference of earth and bone
Stagger gently, find your way home
Whisper your sorrows out of sight
Find the peace that I have in the loam
Nothing left out there to fight
