How we met

April 5th,1996
I lay on my bed reading a book about different types of ice magic I was reading chapter 6 which   was about ancient ice magic spells ,one of the spells I was reading was a spell through which   I could freeze fire.
"wow!" I exclaimed as I read the spell " I have to learn this spell ".
"What's wrong with you?" Rihanna shouted at the top of her voice in my ear.
"Rihanna? What in the hell are you doing in my room? Why are you shouting in my ear? I could have gone deaf you know,I thought your friend was here go play with  her and stop bugging me, can't   you see I'm busy,go away".
"How in the hell are you busy you are just reading some stupid book-"
"Oh yeah , what's so stupid about a book on ice magic? You would find it fascinating if it was a book on fire or heaven's magic ".
"Can you stop cutting me off when I'm talking you always do that and what's your problem?".
"My problem is that you don't respect my element and I never cut you off unless you're talking nonsense".
"I do respect your elements"she said calmly
I stayed quiet.
"Listen let's get to the point, okay?" She said.
"So,what's the point?".
"Oh your friend is here"
"My friend? Who?"
"Rose's brother-"
"Nick is here !" I shouted ,flipped my book into the air and ran out to see him.
"There you go,you cut me off again" she said with a smile and ran after me into the hall.
"Hello!"Rose said grinning. She was Nick's younger sister.she was wearing a light pink T shirt and light brown shorts. Her scarlet hair was tied into a ponytail.
"Hello Rose". I said and turned to Nick.
"What took you so long man? Rihanna's been shouting your name for the past ten minutes". Nick said with a sheepish grin on his face. He was wearing a blue T shirt and black pants." Hi, what's up?"
"Why didn't you tell me you were here ?". I said excitedly.
"Rihanna's been trying to tell you that for the past ten minutes "
"I am fine how are you? Did you come to play or practice magic?".
"None. I came to ask you something " he said looking grave.
"What's the matter? Is everything okay?" I asked seriously.
"Nothing is okay. Our parents left for Krona( royal city) two months ago and they have not returned".
"Is that all , they must be busy or something ". I said coolly
Now Nick looked angry and grave at the same time
"No they are not busy . They are in trouble!".
"And how exactly do you know that?".
"Did you get a call or a letter from your parents?"
"No". Now even I was anxious .Rose started crying. "What happened to mamma and papa?"she asked while crying.
"Don't worry Rose,they'll be fine". Rihanna said forcing a smile on her face. Her voice was trembling. She was not sure about what she was saying. I was sure she would start crying soon. Nick spoke
"There's no use in crying ,we need to do something ". He said firmly.
"Let's go to krona and find out what happened to our parents!". I said.
"Yeah!". They all said in unison. Rose had stopped crying and Rihanna looked more cheerful. And so we left for the train station.
"Four tickets to krona please ". Nick said to the guy in the ticket counter and handed him the    money for four tickets.
"You sure you want to go to krona?". The guy in the ticket counter asked.
"Sure". Nick said firmly and the guy handed Nick the tickets.
We took our tickets and boarded the train and sat down on our seats. Nick and I sat on one of the seats and Rihanna and Rose took the seat behind us .To our surprise the train was empty only three people sat in front of us. They were kids just like us. Near the window sat a young boy with deep blue hair and black eyes,he wore shorts and a green T shirt, I didn't like the look of him, I could feel magic power coming from him and his magic power was kind of cold just like mine was he a wizard too? Why was he going to Krona? Was his purpose of going to Krona the same as ours? Many questions arose in my mind. He was not the only one sitting in front of us. In the middle sat a girl with pretty pink hair I couldn't see her eyes as they were closed,she wore a light yellow coloured skirt and deep purple shirt. Her head was resting on a boy's shoulder who sat in the aisle seat. The boy had blonde hair his eyes were closed too and his head rested on the girl's head ,he wore a  black jacket and brown pants. I looked at the guy sitting in the window seat , he was staring out of the window lost in thoughts,he didn't even look at us once I don't think he noticed us. He was weird.
The train started moving. A weird silence hung around us.
"Hello". Nick said to the weird boy ,breaking the silence and startling me.
The boy looked at us for the first time. "You talking to me?" He asked. I know I have said this before but he was weird.
"Yes I am talking to you"
"Uh hello"
"My name is Nick, what's yours?".
"My name is Storm"
"Tell me something,are you a wizard ?".
"Yes I am . You must be a wizard too".
"Nice guess I am a wizard ".
"Now you tell me something,did your parents go to Krona two months ago and didn't return? Is that your purpose of going to Krona?".
"Yes,how do you know that?". Nick asked looking surprised.
"Because the same thing happened to me". He said looking sad.
"Who's that guy you're talking to?". Rihanna asked me.
"Oh that's storm". I said
"Who are you?" Storm asked me.
"I'm Frost. I'm a wizard too, an ice wizard".
"You're an ice wizard?!". He gasped
"Yes I am. Are you an ice wizard too?".
"Yeah. I've never seen another ice wizard except my father and myself."
"You're looking at one now and even my father was an ice wizard."
"Hi storm ,I'm Rihanna. I'm a fire and heavens magic user . This is  my brother." She said pointing at me." He uses ice,earth and air magic." She added.
"Nice to meet you Rihanna. You already know who I am and yeah I use ice and water magic." He   said." What type of magic do you use Nick and who's the girl behind you?". He added curiously.
"I use summoning magic and this is Rose my younger sister". Nick said.
"Hi". Rose said.
"Hi Rose". Storm said." What's your magic?".
"I use heavenly body magic". Rose said.
"Cool". He said smiling for the first time.
"Now tell us about your companions". I said
"Lucy and Nash, they're twins-"
"Did you just call us". They said in unison awakening from their sleep.
Everyone including Storm laughed.
"Who are these guys and why are they laughing at us Storm?". Lucy asked.
Storm told Lucy and Nash about us and we said "hi". In unison
"Nice to meet you all!". Nash said cheerfully
"Hello everyone!". Lucy said smiling.
"Tell them about yourselves". Storm said.
"I'm Lucy and I use fire magic usually cold flames".
"Cold flames! I am a fire wizard too but I have never heard of cold flames".said Rihanna surprised.
"That's because it's my signature spell." Lucy said with an air of pride.
Rihanna hated proud people so by the look on her face I could say she didn't like Lucy very much.
"I'm Nash I use summoning magic,but my magic is different from Nick's."
"Different how?" Nick asked.
"You summon swords and blades and weapons but I summon familiars,angels,demons and Gods".
"You're telling me you can summon angels,demons and Gods".
"Yes summoning angels and demons is pretty easy but summoning Gods isn't very easy it takes double the magic power to summon Gods than it takes to summon angels and demons and the spells are too long."
"Can you summon actual Gods like the jupiter sisters or is it just your imagination that you       summon ?".
"I summon actual Gods but only a few of them ,I can summon four of the jupiter sisters that is mars,mercurius,diana and apollo they are real not my imagination ".
"Wow that is amazing!"
"Thanks". Nash said. He was happy to hear someone praise him. Everyone is happy when they are praised. He was a nice guy.
"One thing I learned from Nash is that the Gods are super strong." Storm said while laughing.
Everyone laughed.
"How do you guys know each other?". I enquired.
"We are neighbours and we learnt magic together." Storm said.
"So even your parents disappeared two months ago?". Rihanna asked Nash and Lucy.
They looked at each other and then looked at Storm,Storm gave them a meaningful look and  nodded .
"Yes."Lucy said.
"They didn't disappear ,they used to write to us in February but they stopped writing in march".
Nash said sadly.
"The same thing happened to us." I said and looked at Rihanna she nodded.
"Same here." Storm said and looked away. I felt sorry for him.
"So you're saying the same thing happened to you guys." Nick said and looked at all of us, all of us nodded and looked down I could feel tears streaming down my cheeks,I quickly wiped them and
saw Storm crying Rihanna was hugging me and crying,Rose and Nick were also crying,   
so were the twins.
TRING TRING WE HAVE REACHED THE ROYAL CITY OF KRONA . THE TRAIN WILL DEPART IN FIFTEEN MINUTES . This announcement was made on the loud speaker.
"Time to get down guys." I said and got up from my seat nobody followed my lead am I such a bad leader? ." Wipe those tears, get up and face the reality even if it is harsh". I thought they were
going to ask me to shut up but they looked at me as if I had said something really wise and got up.
"Lead the way sir." Nick said and looked at me. This was the first time someone had called me a leader. I stepped out of the train and froze. I can't describe in words what I saw. The others     climbed out of the train,stood next to me and froze just like I did when I saw the horrible sight.
"What happened here?!"everyone exclaimed. What we saw was not any ordinary sight it was the
city of Krona which was completely destroyed and burnt we could see nothing but ash and ruins.
"What in the hell happened here?!". I said in horror.
"I can tell you what happened here if you want to know". A voice said from behind me,I turned to  see who it was and saw a blonde haired girl with yellow eyes her arms were crossed,she was wearing a black cape and black knee high shoes, she looked like a typical wizard to me.
"Who are you? Are you a wizard?".I asked.
"Who I am or what I am is not what matters to you, what matters is that here I am
asking you if you want to know what happened here and there you are asking me personal
details. Do you want to know what happened here or what?". She said arrogantly.
And I was thinking Storm was arrogant.
"Yes I want to know what happened here."I said trying to keep calm.
"Okay." She said and told us the story and functions of the Eclipse gate and pointed westward to show the smoke arising from something huge.
"That is the centre of the city,the place where the eclipse was activated and our parents lost their lives". She said mournfully.
"Our parents? You mean even your parents died?". I asked her.
She looked at me uncertainly and said,"I hate to disclose personal information to strangers but yes my parents died.
"Why don't you just tell us who you are and why are you calling us strangers?". I asked losing my composure.
"I called you guys strangers because you all ARE strangers and I don't know you so I won't
disclose my personal information to you".
Now I was irritated but I had to know who we're getting our information from but I couldn't control the impulse to say,"can you drop the ' I won't disclose personal information to you ' act?".
"What's your problem?!"
"I want to know who I'm getting my information from."
"I want to know to whom I'm giving information."
"Alright, if we tell you who we are then will you tell us who you are?".
"Deal."
"Rihanna, fire and heaven magic user."
"Nick, sword summoning magic user."
"Rose, heavenly body and earth magic user."
"Storm, ice and water magic user."
"Nash, summoning magic user."
"Lucy, fire magic user."
"Frost, ice,earth and air magic user, now you know about us so tell us about yourself."
"I am Nova, lightning magic and acoustics user. I am 16. My parents were among the victims of
the black hole tragedy, they were selected to join the old execution squad they protested
because they didn't want to join the execution squad but their protest failed and they were thrown into the prison and tortured by the princess's bodyguard and threatened,so they had no choice
other than joining the execution squad. I believe it is the fate all your parents suffered."
We all knew that.
"RUN RUN RUN CHILDREN RUN . RUN OR ELSE THEY WILL KILL YOU!". Shouted a man who was about thirty years old."RUN CHIL-" just as he said that he was killed by a soldier who belonged to
the royal army.
"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? WHY ARE YOU KILLING INNOCENTS? WASN'T KILLING WIZARDS ENOUGH FOR YOU?". Rihanna shouted looking horrified.
"More children....nice. We are not Killing innocents, we are killing non wizards. And yeah, the princess ordered us to kill all the useless people." One of the soldiers said the other three laughed at this 'joke ' .
"Useless people? Non wizards are not useless the have a role to play too!". Storm shouted.
"Whatever!" Said one soldier.
"Like we care!" Said another.
"Are you soldiers wizards?" I asked them.
"No"
"Then you soldiers are useless too and should be executed!"
"FROST! You shouldn't have said that!" Nova shouted.
"LOOK!" Rose shouted pointing at the soldiers who were running towards us with their swords.
"Get ready to fight!" I said smiling slyly. I was always ready for a fight.
"Yeah!" They all shouted including Nova.
" I think even she has accepted my leadership." I thought.
"Freeze!" I shouted and held an open fist in front of a soldier, the soldier froze.
"These kids can use magic!"a soldier said and took a few steps back,"call in more troops!" He ordered.
"Is that all you can do Frost?" Storm asked mockingly.
"You want to see?"
"Bring it on!"
"Why are you idiots fighting each other?!" Lucy shouted.
"Who said we are fighting each other?" Storm said.
"We are only demonstrating our skills" I said.
"Yeah on the soldiers, ice swords!"Storm said as a number of swords emerged from his hand and
hit the soldiers I didn't see blood as I expected to but instead the soldiers froze as the swords hit them.
"Fancy spell" I said.
"Thanks, but your spells are very old fashioned!" He said and chuckled.
"You want to see the fancy spells, don't you?"
"Yes"
"Ice dragon!" I shouted as an enormous dragon made of ice appeared out of thin air and hit the soldiers knocking them down.
"Colour me impressed but my spell are way better than yours!" He said smiling.
I smiled to myself.
"Save some for us!" Nick said, "unleash:rage swords" He said as a number of swords emerged
from his left hand this was similar to Storm's ice swords except this time they were made of
metal and they were very sharp by the look of it. It was Nick's signature attack.
"Flame fist!" Rihanna shouted and her fists were covered with flames she lunged forward and
threw a few punches at the soldiers knocking them out and burning them. Did I tell you she is
good combatant after all she IS my sister.
"Thunderbolt!" Nova shouted and a huge bolt of lightning from the sky knocked out the
remaining soldiers."bullseye!" She said. Man she's strong.
"Come on you could have saved some for us" Nash said and groaned and Lucy pouted.
"Don't worry guys here come more soldiers!"Rose said.
"Cold flames!" Lucy said and blue-black flames ignited on her palms,"rage!" She said and the
flames shot out of her palm and did some major damage to the soldiers , must have hurt.
Nash said the incantation, " I summon thee, mercurious, the jupiter sister!" And a tall lady with
silver divine like hair with blue eyes appeared. Nash said, "attack mercurious!" And the divine like creature summoned a golden harp and played a melody, for us it was a melody but the poor
soldiers couldn't bear it they dropped on the floor, I wasn't sure they were alive if they were then they would have major hearing issues.
"Let the 99 stars of heaven bring judgement upon you, heavens stars!"Rose said and the sky
turned black and 99 stars appeared in the black sky and a beam of light emerged from the stars
and as soon as the beam of light touched the earth's surface BOOM ,luckily we were unharmed
but the soldiers weren't as lucky and that took out the last of the soldiers. We high fived each
other and celebrated our victory but Nova wasn't very happy.
"Why aren't you happy?" Storm asked Nova.
"Why should I be?" Nova retorted.
"Uh...because we defeated the royal soldiers duh."
"No! we shouldn't be happy! We had a chance to speak to the princess and now we lost it,
because of our recklessness!
"How exactly did we lose the chance to speak to the princess?".
"Because we took out half of the royal army!"
"They deserved that!"
"I didn't know we took out so many of them." I said.
"Yes we did!" Nova said.
"Who would even want to talk to the stupid princess!" Nick said.
"I would!" Nova said.
"Why?" Rose asked.
"Isn't it obvious!" Rihanna said.
"What's so obvious?" Lucy asked.
"We could have questioned the princess about the disappearance of our parents." Nash said.
"What about the princess's bodyguard and the execution squad, they wouldn't have let us near
the princess." I asked.
"Were you even paying attention when I was telling you about the black hole tragedy!" Nova said.
"I was! The princess's bodyguard and the execution squad disappeared too you know!" Rihanna said.
"Yes exactly!" Nova said. She looked pleased. She was smiling for the first time. She was quite pretty.
"So should we talk to the princess?" Lucy asked.
"Yes but we can't talk to her." Nova said.
"She'll probably be mad at us." I said.
"She WILL be mad at us!" Nova said.
"Forget talking to the princess." Nick said.
Rose and Rihanna nodded.
"Lets go back to Chera ( our city)"Lucy said and Nash nodded in agreement.
"You guys are from Chera too?"Rihanna asked.
"Yes". Lucy, Nash, Nova and Storm said in unison.
"I kind of knew Lucy, Nash and Storm were from Chera but Nova?" Rose asked.
"Yeah, I am from Chera."Nova said.
"Guys I have an idea!" I said.
"What is your idea, genius?" Nick asked.
"I think we should form our own guild and live together!" I said enthusiastically.
"Yeah!" Rose, Rihanna and Nick shouted.
"What?!" The others shouted in disbelief.
"We were destined to be together, I mean even our parents were in the same squad!" I said.
" I agree!" Nash and Lucy said in unison.
"I will agree if you tell me what we're going to do together." Storm said.
"We will research. All of us want to know what happened to our parents, right? They couldn't
have  died, their sudden disappearance is a mystery, the mystery we are going to solve! We
don't have any family so we will be each other's family!" I said.
"Sounds good to me! I'll join your guild!" Storm said with a huge smile on his face.
"Since I have nowhere else to go, I'll join your guild!" Nova said enthusiastically.
"Not your guild, OUR guild!" I said.
Nova and Storm smiled.
I smiled. I was happy. Everyone was. Our eyes met, we smiled at each other and nodded, we
threw our fists in the air and said ,"yeah!!".
