Sitara-
I pound on the walls that she has trapped me in, trying to make her stop. I just want her to stop.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wake up with blood on my hands. Blood on my cloths. Blood everywhere. I see myself in a broken shard of glass and watch as my eyes go from a pooling black to their normal electric green coloring. What happened? I stand up slowly trying to take in my surroundings. I push something away from me and then I scream, and then everything comes back.
This has only happened a few times before. I call her the Nightmare. The dark side of me. When Someone attacks me she comes out and locks me in. My eyes turn black and become uhers. She can see into their soul, if they are pure or not. If they are pure they live, if not, well she kills them. When's she talked over, nothing can hurt my body. I am invincible.
The Nightmare hasn't come in years. They promised me she would not ever come again. They are the training school for promising young women, the academy is what we girls call it. They pretty much train us to be spies. There are a few girls with special abilities. They can heal heal people and themselves.those girls have a different training course then the rest of us. The rest of us are trained to do jobs. A job could be anywhere from protecting a politician from people trying to Kill him, or we could be the killer. The academy controls what goes on in the world. Death comes to those who disagree with the academy.
What did I do? These were my friends. The body that I pushed off of me was a girl named Day. Every one of my victims eyes are a pooling black a sign left behind By the Nightmare.
I am standing looking at them as pictures of last night come back to me when in walks the headmistress Icemist. She freezes at the sight and stops in mid sentence. behind her are her helper and two males. One is male is older and graying, his features are sharp. He reminds me of an hawk. The other male looks to be around my age and is much better looking.
Icemist looks at me and tells her helper to go get Amara. Amara is the only one who can undo what has happened here.
"Well I see had some fun last night Sitara." Icemist says with a face as cold as her name. As the younger guy starts to take in the sight his face slowly turn green and he backs up as far as he can. The guilt of the lives that I took starts to sink deeper as I try to explain what happened.
"I didn't mean to. I- I don't know what happened... She, she..." I look pleadingly at Icemist begging her to understand. Icemist gets a worried look on her face. She knows it happened again. She sums it up in two words-
"She's back."
The first memory I have is war, war surrounded my life. Everything my family did had something to do with war. While they dreamed of war I dreamed of paradise. Paradise was told of in children stories, it was a land with no pain. I was different from everyone else because I hated war, that was something unheard of in my family, they celebrated war.
One day my father and brothers left, I never saw them again. Shortly after they left soldiers raided my home, that was the first time The Nightmare ever came out. She trapped me in and took the both of us to safety, leaving my family behind to fend for themselves.
"Kuern, I think we should leave now." the young guy said, speaking to the older man with a quivering voice. He looked like he was about to bolt out the door at any moment. Just in the way he looked at me I knew he was scared to death of me. He had never been this close to death before, especially death as violent as the death I caused.
Just then Amara walks in. If anything she is the exact opposite of me. She is no killer; she instead breathes life into others. After spending the smallest amount of time around her one feels rejuvenated. She has golden blonde hair that is always in a neat braid tied with a colorful ribbon.
She is only ten years old, seven years younger than me, and she is like my little sister. Amara is the most innocent person I know, and I try to keep it that way. Ever since the day that she arrived at the academy I have been protecting her, but today the roles are switched. I need her to help me get through this, I need her to undo what The Nightmare did.
Amara's eyes widened just like everyone else's, but instead of backing away in fear she approaches me.
"Sitara, was this you?" She asks me. Her bright green eyes are piercing into mine. I so want to answer her with a no, but I con not lie to her.
"Yes, well kind-of," I reply, "the Nightmare... She did this."
Amara looks in wonder around her and then she kneels down next to the body of a girl called Mindi, looking at the blackness the Nightmare left in her eyes in place of Mindi's dark brown eyes. Amara brushes the hair back from Mindi's face and then looks up at em and says
"Their death is still fresh; I think I can save most if not all of them." She looks toward Icemist and says with a question on her face
"That's what you want, right?"
"Of coarse Amara, do what you can." Icemist replys.
"But they are dead!" The older man said, "there is nothing you can do now but put them in their graves." Amara just smiled at him and said
"Just watch." She looks up to me and asks
" Who was the first?"
"Amara, I don't know. Do not make me think about the Nightmare."
"If they are to live I need to heal them in the order that they were killed, please Sitara, I know it's hard." Amara stares at me pleadingly. I close my eyes and try to concentrate on finding her memories, the Nightmares memories. With my eyes closed I knew that everyone was watching me, waiting.
"Hello my dear. How are you feeling today?"
