THE BET

CHAPTER 1

Nicole was excited when she moved to their new home in New York.she had dreamed of coming to New York since she was a child and now her dreams had finally become a reality.when they got to their new residence Nicole wanted to go explore the city but her mom stopped her. Mrs.Simon told her daughter to help her unpack the things they had brought before she could leave.Nicole frowned but inwardly she was still very excited. When they finished unpacking she was too tired to go out so she took her bath and went to sleep.Her mother took care of the rest of the things as she slept.The next day she got up very early and very excited.It was a beautiful Wednesday morning so she took her bath and went out to scan the neighborhood.She saw so many beautiful things and she didn't realize when she got lost. She walked for a while then she saw a group of people gathered at a basketball court.She went there to check out what was happening and to her surprise, they were having a dance battle.She stood there and watched them as they danced.Justin, a young but very handsome man kept staring at her and when the dance was over ,he walked over to talk to her.''Hello''. said Justin,'' Hi'' said Nicole. ''I'm Justin n' you are?''. I'm Nicole.''Nice to meet you'' said Justin.''Nice to meet you too''. You must be new here cos I've not seen such beauty here in a long time.Thank you, I just moved here and I decided to check the place out. Well, what brought such an angel here to the big city.Nicole blushed when Justin called her angel but she didn't let him notice it.Well my mom got a job here and I have been accepted Binghampton university so we had to move besides there is nothing left for us in Seattle.Said Nicole. Well I hope we can be friends said Justin. ''Why not''. Ok then catch ya later.Justin was about to leave when she remembered she wasn't quite familiar with the route back to her house.Erm, please excuse me, I think I've lost my way to Glen Rock?''would you kindly show me the way please? asked Nicole.''Yeah but my car is parked just around the corner, I could take you home if you don't mind'' replied Justin.''Well no , thank you.I just met you and I'm not comfortable taking a ride from a stranger said Nicole.Well I don't think its safe for you to walk alone in this area and I'm not a bad guy.I'll just take you straight home.Fine then lets go. She followed Justin to his car and he drove her home.She sat in the car in silence till they got to her house.When they got there he asked her for her number and she gave it to him, then she got down and went into her house after thanking him. Her mom was very relived when she came home safe and sound.She narrated every thing to her mom and Mrs.Simon told her to be careful.They had their dinner and watched television for a while then they were off to bed.Mrs. Simon was starting work the next day and Nicole had school.The next day,Nicole woke up at six thirty in the morning and had her bath. Her mom was already up by then and had finished preparing breakfast. After breakfast, Mrs.Simon and her daughter left. She took Nicole to school then she left for work.
