September 2017, Jump City

It was during the early breeze of fall in September when a young girl stepped out of the cab and stood in awe at the entrance of one of the most prestigious universities. 'Jump City University'.

The tall redhead held a piece of paper in between her nimble fingers, and her luggage in the another the other. The 19 year old took a deep breath before pulling her luggage into the place she'll be staying for the next four years of her life.

As she entered the campus, ahead of her was the reception table, sat behind it was a petite blonde. She approached the reception, instantly her outlandish, exotic features caught the attention of the receptionist, whose eyes shone brightly with excitement through her glasses.

"Welcome to the home of Titans! How may I help you?" Smiled the friendly female receptionist.

The young redhead offered a small smile in return, passing the blonde her neat acceptance letter and answered in a polite, sweet voice.
"I'm Kori Anders, I'm enrolling as a freshman here. I hope to get my schedule or something here?"

The receptionist pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose before furiously typing away on the keyboard.

"Miss.. Anders... YES. Here it is, wow scholarship student, good record, student athlete. Oh I'm sorry, forgive me for intruding in your personal business, it just gets boring, and I should probably start printing your schedule but instead I'm rambling, do forgive me it's my first week and..."

The redhead just lightly placed her hand on the rambling receptionist's shoulder.

"It's okay, but I would greatly appreciate if you could print my papers," Kori said, amused by the receptionist.

"Right yes sorry," the receptionist apologized. Seconds later, the loud ruckus of the printer could be heard. The receptionist sailed to the printer on her swivel chair and back.

Handing Kori her different colored coded papers, she explained a few key items.

"Alright, so the pink paper is your schedule. Classes start in two weeks and are from Monday to Thursday. The yellow envelope contains your dorm room number and key card, it'll be complimentary for three weeks to give you time to find a sorority or place to stay, unless you already have a place to stay. The blue one is the list of different extra co-curriculum activities for you to join. And I think that's it."

Kori took the papers and glanced at them once more. "Thank you very much, Miss..?"

"Willow, but you can call me Katie," smiled the receptionist at the polite redhead.

Kori swung her leather black backpack over her shoulder and tugged on her luggage as she made her way to the west wing. Reaching the end of the hallway she entered the elevator pressing level 3. As the doors begin to close, she saw a figure, sprinting to the elevator, waving manically. Quickly, she held the door open and the figure makes it through the door panting.

"T-thank you, dude." Said a boy, roughly about average height, but due to her tall figure, she roughly towered over him by a few inches.

The one thing that caught her attention was his bright green hair which contrasted with his pale skin.

"No problem," Kori replied as the door closed, leaving them in an awkward silence. She noticed that he didn't press a button to a floor. Just as she turned to ask, the boy shot her a question.

"Hey, you just enrolled?" Not giving her a chance to answer he continued, "Stupid question, but I'm Logan, Garfield Logan. But you can just call me Gar, I just enrolled as a freshman last week, what 'bout you?"

"Kori, nice to meet you Gar," she says, sticking out her hand.

Garfield quickly accepted her hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you too."

The elevator 'dinged' and the doors opened. Garfield allowed Kori to step out with her bags and helped hold the door open. "Thanks, Gar."

"No problem," he winked. Kori returned a smile.

"So what dorm are you in Kori?" Asked green haired boy.

"0367, oh no sorry it was 0369." She answered. In front of her was a hallway that split into three. Instantly confusion spread throughout her face. She had always been bad with directions.

"Cool, yo. 0301-0335 is to the left, 0336-0369 is straight ahead and 0370-0399 is on your right, that's where I am," he explained. Kori let out a breath of relief and thanked him.

"Ay dude, there's going to be a pep rally at the schoolyard this whole week. All the sororities and clubs will be advertising. It's lit, you should go."

"Will do, Gar." She gave hin a smile before pulling her bags straight towards her room.

Entering her room, she put her bags aside and threw herself onto the small single bed. It was a cramped space, with a walking space of about a meters width. But she couldn't complain, the room itself was clean and modern with walls painted a plain, spotless white.

She was exhausted from the long, restless flight and trip there and decided to have a short nap before exploring the campus later.
