The day at Ouran begins as the host club walks through the gate and converse as they usually do. The school day goes by as usual. They eventually made it to the club and Kyoya notices Tamaki was staring at Haruhi the whole time. Haruhi notices and points it out to Tamaki. "Tamaki senpai why are you staring at me?" Haruhi asks. "Why my Haruhi I was just admiring you, is that so wrong?" Tamaki responds. "Uh, its kind of weird and aren't you supposed to be hosting?" Haruhi asks. "The customers are busy with the other hosts, so I thought I'd take a break" "Oh, okay. But can you not stare at me, it's weird" Before Tamaki gets a chance to respond, a handful of customers comes toward him "Later Haruhi!" Tamaki manages to tell over the crowd, and he goes back to hosting. Haruhi is left confused about what just happened, but before she has time to think the hiitachin twins come up to her. "Hey Haruhi" Hikaru says as he approaches her. "Oh, hi Hikaru" Haruhi says, sounding a bit surprised. "We saw Tamaki eyeing you down and thought you might've needed a bit of backup". "Well, not anymore, he just got flooded with girls" Haruhi says looking over at Tamaki, who is now surrounded by girls. "Just in time too" Hikaru adds. "Hey, do you guys know why he was staring at me?" Haruhi asks "He probably likes you. I mean, why else would he stare at you and call you his and get jealous" Hikaru points out, "Good point, but I don't like him romantically" "It's probably driving him crazy, since he doesn't know you're a girl and all" Hikaru adds "He's going to find out eventually" Kaoru says, joining the conversation "Yeah, but when. And how?" Hikaru asks "That's what I don't know, but, well leave it to time." Kaoru says "Yeah, but don't you plan on telling him at some point?" Hikaru asks "Yeah, because I think he's gay because he thinks I'm a guy." Haruhi says "Yeah, he seems to be interested, even though knowing you're 'a guy' "Hikaru says with air quotes "Yeah, you should probably tell him before this gets out of hand." Kaoru says "What do you mean out of hand?" Hikaru asks "I mean if he starts getting attracted to boys he might start liking other guys." Kaoru explains "Oh. So when should we tell him?" Hikaru asks "When the girls leave. It will be easier when they're gone." Kaoru says "Ok so after school. Are we going to tell him or should Haruhi?" "I'll tell him." Haruhi says "You want us to wait outside?" Hikaru asks "Yeah." Haruhi says "Me and Kaoru will wait outside, I hope he takes it well" "Alright." Once the host club period ends, the girls all leave and exit school. Kyoya, Honey and Mori go home, meanwhile the twins, Haruhi and Tamaki stay a bit later. "Good luck" Hikaru wishes Haruhi "We'll be outside if you need us." Kaoru says. Tamaki walks towards Haruhi as the twins pretend to exit, only to be around the corner. "My Haruhi, you said you wanted to talk. What did you want to talk about?" Tamaki asks Haruhi "Tamaki I need to tell you something. I just don't know how" "Is it a confession? Have you fallen for me?" Tamaki asks with excitement "Um, no...Tamaki I'm a girl" Haruhi says a bit worried of Tamaki's reaction "...Haruhi did you just say-" "Yes Tamaki. I'm a girl!" Haruhi says a bit louder cutting off Tamaki "But you- you're a host. You flirt with girls... And you're a... Girl" Tamaki says in shock "Yes. I'm a girl and I'm a host. I'm surprised you didn't know. Everyone else knew." "You act so much like a guy and-" -Tamaki pauses- "Why did you just now tell me?" Tamaki asks, calming down, "Well, I didn't think it mattered." "I- But- If you're a girl that means" "Yeah. You like guys." "What? No! I like you!" "Tamaki." Haruhi says, placing a hand on Tamaki's shoulder. " I don't like you romantically and when you liked me you thought I was a guy." Haruhi said, sounding sincere "O- oh... I knew that... But-" "Tamaki. I'm sorry but, I don't like you in that way." "That- That's fine, " Tamaki's eyes start to water, you can tell he's going to cry. "Was that all?" Tamaki asks "That's all I wanted to tell you." Haruhi said, sounding a little guilty "I'll go then" Tamaki says, turning around, almost running out the door. He then bumps into the twins because they were going to check how things went. "Tamaki, are you ok?" Hikaru asks "Yeah are? You look like you're about to cry." Kaoru asks. Tamaki quickly wipes his tears and turns to the twins "I'm just heading home" Tamaki says, starting to walk off again. The twins start asking Haruhi what happened. "Haruhi, what happened?" Kaoru asks "I told him I am a girl and he kinda..." "Ran off crying" Hikaru finishes "He confessed his feeling and I...kinda ..." "Rejected him" "Yeah." "He didn't take it well, huh?" "Yeah, well, he ran out the door." "Maybe we should have been in here with you." Kaoru said "Maybe we could've offered a shoulder to cry on, or 2" "Yeah we should have." Kaoru said "What'd he say when you told him?" "He was shocked that I was a girl and a host." "That's kinda expected. Did you try to tell him he's gay?" "Yeah. I tried. He kept saying he likes me but, he liked me thinking I was a guy." "Do you think he'll be interested in any guys from now on? Or if he'll back off you?" "I don't know really." "I guess we'll see tomorrow" "Yeah, I'll see you guys tomorrow" Haruhi said, walking out the door "I hope Tamaki will be better" "Yeah I hope so too."
Tamaki ran out the school all the way home. He couldn't get today out of his head. Haruhi was a girl. He liked her, despite thinking she was a guy. Was he a gay in denial? He then heard a knock at his door, he wipes his tears and opens the door. There he sees Kyoya with his computer. "Hi Tamaki. I need to talk about some things concerning the club with you." Kyoya says, not looking up from his computer. "Oh, come in" Tamaki says opening the door for him. Tamaki tries to smile, yet his eyes still a bit watery. Kyoya goes in the house and looks at Tamaki's face. "Are you okay?" Kyoya asked, concerned. Tamaki's eyes start to water once asked the question. "Can we talk?" "Of course Tamaki!" Kyoya said, concerned Tamaki let's Kyoya in, they both head to Tamaki's room and start talking. "Tamaki, what's wrong?" Kyoya asks "I just found out Haruhi was a girl, and she just rejected me" Tamaki explains, letting it all out. "Are you going to be alright?" Kyoya asks, getting closer to Tamaki placing a hand on his shoulder. The consulting reminds Tamaki of Haruhi, so he quickly pulls away. This kinda shocks Kyoya, he is confused about what he did. "Why did you move away?" Kyoya asked, confused "S- Sorry it reminded me of Haruhi" "What happened in the host club?" Kyoya asks "I- I don't know" Tamaki responds "What do you mean?" Kyoya asks, confused "I still can't believe you didn't know she was a girl." Kyoya adds "I didn't care" "So you're okay with hitting on guys?" Kyoya asks "I- um" Tamaki stutters "I mean you liked to think she was a guy." "It's not like that" "It's fine if you are. We could get more customers." "I just um- thought-" Tamaki can't come up with an excuse, so instead just gets super defensive. "But she ended up being a girl so it doesn't count and-" "Tamaki you're gay! You liked thinking she was a boy!" Kyoya yelled "Who said I liked it? Huh Kyoya?" Kyoya inhales and almost slaps him "You need to understand. You're gay! You always stared at her thinking she was a guy!" he yelled. Tamaki opens his mouth to argue, but had nothing to say "Shit". Kyoya walks in front of Tamaki and grabs his chin in his hand. "I'm saying you're gay." Kyoya says calmly. Tamaki starts blushing as Kyoya lifts his chin, slowly starting to realize. "Tamaki do you understand? " Kyoya asks "M- maybe" Tamaki stutters. Kyoya gets a little closer "Do you understand?" he asks again Tamaki gets more flustered and stutters "Eh- um, maybe" Kyoya gets closer to the point of where they're touching noses. "Do you accept your fate?" Tamaki is unable to speak, the only thing coming out of his mouth is gibberish "I said do you understand." Tamaki can't stutter a word, still left blushing "Nod yes or no." Tamaki nods yes. Kyoya lets go of Tamaki's chin, but, stays the same distance from his face. "Kyo-" Kyoya kisses Tamaki, then pulls away from Tamaki. "Kyoya, do you understand?" Tamaki teases "Shut up." Kyoya says, looking away. Tamaki realizes what just happened. "I understand" Tamaki says. Kyoya looks back at Tamaki "Do you understand what I meant. That was a test, but..." "But what?" "I couldn't hold back any longer." "Hold back?" Tamaki asks with curiosity "Tamaki I love you" Kyoya mumbles. Tamaki's eyes widen at hearing these words. Tamaki wonders if he heard Kyoya right, and asks "Could you speak up a bit, Mommy dear?" "I...I love you Tamaki." Kyoya says a bit louder so Tamaki could hear him Tamaki knows he heard Kyoya right. Did he just... Confess? Tamaki doesn't know what to say. He just sits there, speechless and surprised. Kyoya takes Tamaki's response as him saying he didn't accept his feelings "I'm sorry." Kyoya says, starting to walk to the door. Tamaki stops Kyoya in his tracks, holding his shoulder and turning him around "Who ever said I said I don't love you back?" Kyoya was surprised at Tamaki and didn't have any words. "I love you too Kyoya" Tamaki says, with a smile. Tamaki pulls Kyoya into a tight hug. Kyoya hugs Tamaki and was happy his feeling were accepted. "Let's take things slowly" "Okay"
