Vivian ran toward the house. She was greeted at the house by their dog, Lucky. Lucky lived up to her name. She was full of luck! Lucky was a husky with one bright blue eye and the other deep brown.

Lucky walked with Vivian to the kitchen. They walked through the hallway, the staircase on their right, the bathroom on their left, and then the dining room, which was connected to the kitchen. The door was on the left to enter the dining room. The living room was connected to it, too!

When they entered, Lucky sat down at the entrance to the dining room. Her mother was cooking something at the stove that smelled really good. "Hey mom! What are you cooking?" Vivian asked, loving the smell.

"You will find out soon. Do the dishwasher." replied her mom, listening, but still preparing the food.

While Vivian was listening to her mother, she also grabbed a treat for Lucky under the sink. When Lucky smelled the treats, he stood up, but still didn't come into the dining room.

Vivian sighed and looked over at her mother, as she grabbed a treat from the bag. "Can I please go ride Duke? After all, my competition is in exactly two weeks." Vivian said, hoping for a good answer.

Her mother just shook her head and said, "You will have plenty of time to ride Duke after you do the dishwasher."

Vivian just walked on over to Lucky, who was still next to the door. She said to Lucky, "Turn around!" Lucky turned around and around and around. Vivian laughed. She said, smiling, "Okay, okay! Sit, Lucky!" Lucky sat and Vivian tossed the treat into the air and Lucky caught it! "What a catch!" Vivian shouted. She turned back to her mother as Lucky began to eat the treat.

Vivian stopped looking at her mother and looked out at the treehouse. "But what about Gwen's chores?"

Her mother finally stopped cooking and looked at her. "If you are going to be like that, than you can do her chores, too." Vivian quit arguing and did the dishwasher.

After Vivian had finished the dishwasher, she said to her mother, "Can I please go ride Duke now?"

Her mother replied, "If you did the dishwasher, my Vivian." Vivian then ran out to the stables.

Vivian saw Gwen feeding her horse, Lucy, a carrot when she got to the stables. Gwen's white hair shined in the sunlight. "Hey, Gwen!" Vivian called.

Gwen turned around and saw her twin. "Oh, hi Vivian!"

Vivian said, happily, "You want to go horseback riding?"

Gwen replied, "You know that I am not as good at horseback riding as you, right? But yeah, I'll do it with you."

Gwen and Vivian got the horses out of their pens and rode the horses onto the field. "You ready?" Vivian said, looking at the pathway.

"Of course." replied her twin. Gwen was skilled at horse back riding but not as good as Vivian. She tried to get better, to be as good as Vivian. It was a lot of practice. But Gwen was concentrated on drawing, art on top of all of it.

They were about to start the race when their mother yelled, "Gwendolyn! Vivian! Lunchtime!"

Gwen looked at Vivian and smiled. Continue the race after?"
