It was 6 am and you were back at the military base. Your strength had been recovered and you were back in action. The sun was barely out making the surprisingly clear sky bright. You headed to the training grounds to start the morning exercises. Infront of a giant group of soldiers, you started with stretch exercises and then proceeded to strength training.

After the warm-ups, you divided them into two groups. The first group had to do hand to hand combat, while the others had fake shotguns to combat with.

The day had been going nicely. No one bothered you so you could just do your job... How long will you have this job though? You haven't decided yet and time is running by. You've been leaning towards the crazy opportunity. There would be less physical activity but your brain would have to do more.

"Yoo (f/n)," someone yelled from behind you. Turning around you saw that it was Jacob. "Where've you been?" he asked. He was clearly relieved. "Just home, sick," you chuckled. "You know, I had to do all your work..." he continued. But you intervened: "Well, you did sleep the night at some farmers house while I was awake outside." "...and supposedly they've been giving out promotions like hell. It's like Christmas in the spring," he continued like you didn't say anything.

He clearly aimed at you getting a promotion. It would be one hell of a conversation with your boss if that happened. Trying to explain you leaving cause you've been offered a higher position wouldn't be fun.

Coming back to earth you turned to face the soldiers slacking off. "10 laps, everyone. NOW!" you ordered them. Some of them flinched at her sudden scream while the others groaned. "You can thank the people that were slacking off. If this happens again the number of laps will double!" you yelled with an angry expression as they started running.

"Remind me not to get on your bad side," Jacob joked. He had been still standing beside you. "I guess I'll be going to do my own work now. See you later." With that, he left.

After the 10 laps were finished you switched the groups. Now you didn't put an eye off of them. Sometimes you would commentate their moves and walk around. It was easy to determine who was more ready for combat and who not. You had to take extra work for the weaker ones, knowing that you were once in a position like that too.

Time quickly passed any everyone went to lunch. It was in some kind of giant cafeteria divided by rank. Even the SAS troops were in there, just in their own section. The food here was edible, but not much else. There were offered tea and coffee for extra coin, so you just stuck with tap water.

Getting your food you sat down at your usual spot. Hughes and Robertson were already sitting there. The three of you made some small talk, talking about what happened to you and where you were until today, what has been happening around the base and complaining about the food quality. In the middle of the conversation, Jacob joined in.

You could feel a pair of eyes staring at you. It gave a strange feeling on your back. You started to low-key scan the room with your eyes while eating. At first, you couldn't find anyone but the feeling was still there and you couldn't shake it away. It was crawling up to your neck. A predator ready to jump on its prey.

You rescanned the room, this time more precise. Your eyes jumped from one person to the other. The situation would be crappy if the person was actually behind you this whole time. But then you saw him. His expression was cold. It made you want to run away. Run away and hide. From him. From Deckard.

Quickly finishing your lunch you emptied the tray and walked out of the room. There were 30 minutes left till you had to go back to work. You couldn't just stand in the hall. The girls changing room would be a good hiding spot. Fast walking there you tried to look as casual as possible.

The halls took you to a part of the building used mainly by the maintenance. It was weird how the building was structured. The halls were three connected squares in a line. There were rooms on all sides of them. There were also doors in them, which weren't always unlocked. You had to slalom around the building.

A door suddenly opened and something grabbed your arm, pulling it into a room. After you got inside the door closed. The room was dark, the windows were shaded. A dark figure was standing in front of you. It then continued to push you into a wall. Your hands were held between you and the wall, your body being pressured into it by the figure.

You could feel their breathing on your face. Everything was quiet. Your heart beat was racing and you were pretty sure the other person could feel it. And then the silence broke. "You know, I really don't like being lied to," he said and paused, waiting for your response. "I didn't intentionally not come. I can't help it if I get sick," hissed at him. He chuckled like he wasn't even serious about this. It was silent for a moment. His hand started moving upwards, touching the skin on your face. He then proceeded to tilt your head up, facing him directly. "My brother, Owen, got promoted and invited you out to a bar with some others. If would be nice of you to come," he said.

"How did you get past me undetected?" you changed the topic. Again, he chuckled: "Knowing how to break into a place undetected is one of the job requirements. But you should know that, wouldn't you?" He was right. You underestimated his skills.

He then stepped away from you and started leaving. "I hope you come to the Oasis bar at 9 pm on Friday," he said not even turning around and slamming the door shut. You slid down the wall taking a deep breath. Why has he been like this?

At least you didn't have to hide now...
