So, first off I guess i'll say what I think about Super in general. I started watching Super late, just about a month before the dub started airing in America. I had finally gotten Crunchyroll and have been watching it since. It definitely started off rough and very boring, the animation was bad in most places, and at some times it was noticeable to even me, and I don't take the time to pause and break it down. And the first two arcs were just recaps of movies I had already seen. I wished I could have skipped them, but I was dedicated to watching every episode. Luckily however, it seems that most of the early animation problems have been fixed for dub and DVD releases, so that's good. However that doesn't change the fact that the movie recaps were still bad. The movies themselves were great, but the anime recaps of them were bad. Now i'm no critic, so I don't know much about what makes an episode or a movie great, but I know that the first thing is that the audience should enjoy watching and have reactions to what's going on. But during the recap arcs I was not enjoying myself, I felt like I was wasting my time by watching them. They weren't fun and they weren't getting any reaction out of me at all. Hell, for the Funimation dub, I skipped the Beerus arc and the only reason i'm watching the Freeza arc is because I love the way Chris Ayres voices Freeza, and I wanted to hear his performance, which brightened up the arc just a little bit for me. But besides that, honestly if you're considering watching Super if you haven't already, just skip the movie recaps and watch the movies if you haven't already. Anyway, after the movie recaps things got better, as I enjoyed the Universe 6 arc. I liked the characters (especially Hit and Frost, can you tell I like the Freeza race a bit too much?) And I liked the overall idea of the arc. A tournament to determine who gets what universe. Some people like the story in dragon ball, some people like the fighting, some people like the characters. I'd say I like all three, which is why I like this arc. It had good characters, it had a decent story, and the fights were good as well. Now, the Goku Black arc is where things get complicated for me. I'm not too sure how I feel about it. The story was confusing and WAY too overcomplicated with all of the time travel bull shit, and while I did kind of like Zamasu as a villain he was a bit obnoxious both with his personality and goals. That and I can never figure out how to pronounce his damn name in english. Is it Zamasu or Zamas? Is the u silent or not?! Anyway I could barely follow the story, Zamazu and Goku Black were...Okay villains I guess? I kinda liked the relation between future Trunks and future Mai, so the characters were decent. The fights were pretty cool too. After the Goku Black stuff things started to get a lot better in my opinion, especially when the Zen Exhibition match started. So overall, as of now, I think Super is great, and I really do like what they're doing right now in terms of story. So overall Super is good, it had a rocky start but Toei is learning and they're getting better and better with time. So that's it for this part I guess.
