Chapter 2
I stood there with my mouth hanging open. What the heck was this kid talking about? My parents are dead! How can a dead person send you a message?
"Look I know it sounds crazy but it's true. When I was 12 your parents gave me a message to tell you when you're old enough." He said. He reached into his pocket and grabbed a letter and handed it to me.
"How did you know my parents?" I asked, carefully taking the letter.
"It's complicated."
That didn't make any sense but I have no other option but to believe him. I opened the letter and inside was a small piece of paper, it had three words on it: We're not dead.
I dropped the note and he picked it up. His eyes widened when he read it.
"We need to find them." He said folding it up and putting it away.
"Find who?" Caroline asked.
"My parents, they're not really dead. They must have escaped." I turned back to the boy. "What's your name?"
"J.C." He said. Then he turned and started to leave.
"Where are you going." I said following him.
"I did my duty now you need to do yours." He turned to face me with concern in his eyes. "The magic shop is a good cover, but it won't last much longer." He grabbed my arm and I tried to pull away but he was too strong. "They will find you and kill you."
"The government won't find me I have the magikó vivlío, something the ones that where caught did not have." I said finally pulling away.
"I'm not talking about the government I'm talking about the skoteiní̱ mageía. They killed my sister and they will kill and any other mágissa neró that they find." J.C. said.
"Ha, he called you a water witch." Caroline said trying hard to keep from laughing.
"That's what they call the water users. Some can do many kinds of magic then there are some that are the elemental, like water, wind, fire and earth, but they're rare." I turned to J.C. still hazy on one thing. "But I'm not an elemental."
"O ánemos den gno̱rízei poio eínai to myaló den kánei" He said.
"The wind knows what the mind does not." I translated "Your a odi̱gós ánemos. That's impressive and all but I would know if I were an elemental." I replied indignantly.
"Look, I don't care if you believe me, but you and your friends are main targets. The skoteiní̱ mageía have a new target every so often but their main threat is still the mágissa neró. The mágissa neró are different form other witches, their magic has zero limits. That is why you and your friends have to come with me." J.C. said trying to grab my arm again.
"What about the odi̱gós tou neroú? Aren't there any guys with water magic?" Caroline asked walking up beside me.
"Well little anthró̱pinos, if you must know, water and earth are for girls, and fire and wind are for guys." J.C. said, slightly annoyed at the constant delays.
"Oh, well if your going with him so am I." Caroline said linking her arm with mine.
"You would have to. Anyone who knows is in trouble." J.C. replied, getting annoyed with how long this was taking. "So can we go now?"
"Dee Dee!" Caroline and I said at the same time. A little while back Dee Dee saw me practicing my magic so I had to tell her the truth.
We ran out of the shop and ran full speed back to the townhouse, weaving between the Manhattain resident who where going about their daily routines, oblivious to the secret world right under their noses. J.C. came up behind us grumbling about how his sister can't keep any secrets.
I wondered who his sister was for a moment until something hit me like a ton of bricks, wind. That was all I could remember from my dreams, what if it was a warning.
While I was lost in my thoughts Caroline was texting, calling, she tried everything. But no answer.
When we got to the house we burst in after seeing the door slightly ajar. When we entered the first thing I saw was Jordan on the floor unconscious.
"I'll take him and get taxi." J.C. said. "You find Dee Dee."
We searched frantically but we found nothing. We could not find her. We ran to the taxi and Caroline was on the brink of tears.
I turned to J.C. and said. "We will come with you on one condition: You help us find Dee Dee."
"Fine, but if you want her alive we better hurry."
A/N: If you were wondering about the language, it's Greek. I might add a glossary or you can just look it up on google translate.
So, I hope you like this chapter. I know it is kinda short but I think it said what it needed to.
This is dedicated to zandycandy because she is just plain awesome.
5 votes for an early update, or else it will just be posted next Friday.
