My skin shivered from a quick breeze gently sweeping across my forearms as I rubbed my hands together. Despite my thick, purple and black sweltering hoodie in which the sleeves exceeded a bit to cover my wrists, I still felt chills whenever that one or two breezes came to sweep by every two or three minutes. I was used to it though, for I was sitting in my favorite spot, on the roof of the Girls Dorm of Crimson University, the newest University of Miami Florida. I'd often go up there to clear my thoughts and escape from the world in those times where I just needed to be alone, but this was not one of those times, for this time I stood there staring out into the nearby sea seeing a little light that would always be there on Thursday nights. I squinted my eyes, thinking about my family back home about four hours up north. I missed them, but it didn't bother me. I'd think of them every night, but I wouldn't ever cry. I tapped my foot being slightly entertained by the sound of my black boots squeaking and also maybe being able to think better. I ruffled my hands in and out of my jean pockets feeling a small sense of anxiety for no reason every time the little light on the sea would go out for five seconds and come back. Was I wondering about my future? Was I wondering about my family at home? Was I worrying about the way my friends view me? No; I was simply always curious about the light and got a sense of enlightenment out of viewing at it for long periods of time. After being lost in thought for a little bit in focus of the light, I felt another quick breeze slap me in the face sort of giving me a bit of a 'wake-up call' as I jumped up in surprise.
I had been up there long enough, it was time to get down. I rubbed my forehead feeling a little bit dizzy as usual from this long and hard focus I had just been in. I then looked down, the dorm was quite tall, it had three stories and was connected to the boys' dormitory via the cafeteria. Aside from the actual three stories of dorm rooms, there was also an extra floor which was sort of an eating/TV area, of which was the roof that I was standing at that very moment. It was going to be a pretty hard fall. I would'be likely broken most legs in my bone, all of my arm bones, and not to mention cracking my skull open. Of course, I was still going to jump anyway, I could've afforded to do such an antic: for I knew somebody extremely familiar was down there to catch me. I rotated my shoulders as I swung my arms in one big circle as I paused them once they were above my head at their max height while taking a deep breath. I smiled, the fresh air ran through my lungs, I could almost feel all of the cells in my body feeling refreshed and ready to go after all of them along with me took out a nice big exhale as I swung my hands down. And with that, I was ready to get down.
The breeze swept over the ground below creating a little whirlwind on my destination as if it knew my little secret to getting down from on top of the roof. I would've expected it too, for I had done it several times. Looking down being sure of my destination my skin started lighting up with a purple bioluminescent glow; it would only take a second. Shortly after glowing for about 2 seconds a double of me, having the same size, shape, and form as me but only being made completely out of light and having somewhat glowing entirely black eyes, had emerged out of my body. This 'clone' of me was the source of the glow. After it had phased outside of my body it proceeded to jump down fearlessly from four stories high and landed in that very spot that the little whirlwind had passed. Despite the great height it had jumped from, it landed cleanly on the ground bending its knees strongly upon impact but hadn't taken much of any visible damage. After it's proceedings, it put out its arms making itself ready to catch me as I confidently jumped down and landed on its somewhat chubby arms rather softly(it was at times like these that I was happy to be plus sized). I looked at the clone. It had taken quite a bit of damage from landing and catching me; whenever my clones got damaged, they would become blurry and fuzzy like white noise.
